    The Levy County Sheriff’s Office reports the following arrests:

    • Dec. 9, Christopher Scott Allen, 43, Inglis, DWLSR.

    • Dec. 7, James Blair Bailey Jr., 37, Inglis, FTA. Bond $25,000.

    • Dec. 5, John Douglas Bonnell, 50, Inglis, out of county warrant.

    • Dec. 4, Thomas James Byerly, 20, Seminole, possession of marijuana not more than 20 grams, possession and/or use of drug equipment. Bond $2,000.

    The Levy County Sheriff’s Office reports the following arrests:

    • Nov. 27, Paul Anthony Altman, 35, Newberry, non-support of children or spouse. Bond $1,000.

    • Nov. 30. Javonte Baxter-Jackson, 19, Gainesville, lewd and lascivious behavior on victim age 12-16. Bond $250,000.

    • Nov. 30, Eugene Robert Bricketto, 57, Archer, possession of a controlled substance w/o a prescription, possession and/or use of drug equipment. Bond $31,000.

    • Nov. 14, Anthony Eric Beard, 38, Silver Springs, out of county warrant. Bond $1,140.

    • Nov. 18, Joey Bill Berry, 30, Trenton, DUI. ROR.

    • Nov. 12, Roger Raymond Buchner, 46, Fife Lake, Mich,, possession of marijuana not more than 20 grams. ROR.

    • Nov. 15, William Mitchell Clem, 20, Chiefland, missile into dwelling or aircraft, possession of a weapon or ammunition by a convicted felon. Bond $250,000.

  • Williston Police improve communication with hearing impaired

    Williston Police Department will introduce a plan to improve communications with hearing impaired motorists.

    A “visor” card has been produced so motorists can use it to communicate with an officer if stopped.

    The card has images of traffic signs and routine traffic related questions. A sticker is also included with the international symbol for hearing impaired to be applied to the rear of the vehicle.

    Nov. 10, Everette Michael Adams, 41, Dunnellon, two counts child abuse w/o great bodily harm, resisting W/OV. Bond $55,000.

    • Nov. 10, Brandon George Ausherman, 25, Williston, fleeing/eluding, no DL, grand theft, vehicle grand theft, obstruction W/OV. Bond $27,000.

    • Nov. 6, Mark Richard Boivin, 18, Chiefland, grand theft. Bond $25,000.

    • Nov. 8, Ivan Floyd Chubb, 79, Williston, driving on a permanently revoked DL. ROR.

    • Oct. 23, Drew Joshua Bennett, 31, Perry, out of county warrant. Bond $2,000.

    • Oct. 28, Casey Brown, 29, Chiefland, breach of the peace. Bond $1,000.

    • July 2, Earnest Gerome Brown, 63, Williston, battery, contempt of court/violation of a no contact order.

  • Sheriff warns partiers that lawless behavior will not be tolerated

    During the late night hours of Sept. 29 and early morning hours of Sept. 30, a large number of individuals staged a “Williston Block Party” in the area of the New Hope Baptist Church east of Williston.

     An estimated crowd of 3,000 partiers used vehicles to completely block traffic on CR 318 and NE 212th Court.

    Loud music, alcohol and marijuana smoke filled the area for approximately four hours.

    • Oct. 20, Bobby Joe Bullock, 24, Horseshoe Beach, operating motorcycle w/o license, possession of a controlled substance w/o a prescription, trafficking in amphetamine. Bond $60,500.

    • Oct. 1, Edwin Guillermo Alegria, 28, Alachua, VOP.

    • Oct. 3, Roddrick Jovon Anthony, 25, Bronson, possession of marijuana over 20 grams. Bond $5,000.

    • Oct. 4, Ashley Avis Batten, 31, Bronson, battery. ROR.

  • Williston man charged with elderly person neglect; false imprisonment

    The Levy County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division (CID) arrested Alex Hernandez, 48, of Williston Sept. 24 for neglect of an elderly person and false imprisonment.

    Hernandez was the caretaker and living with a 67-year-old female who suffers from the early stages of dementia and COPD.
