• Council honors May Students of the Month

    At its first meeting in May, Williston City Council and Mayor Gerald Hethcoat saluted May Students of the Month.

    Sabrina Spearin, was chosen from Williston Elementary School.

    The fifth grader is the daughter of Daniel Spearin.

  • Star Gazing

    At the request of 5th grade Alpha teacher Kathy Brewington, members of the Alachua Astronomy Club brought two telescopes to the campus of Williston Elementary School recently so her students and those in Steve Van Zwienen’s class could look at the “star,” the earth’s sun.

  • JBE Carnival is Thursday

    Joyce Bullock Elementary will host a  Spring Carnival Thursday, April 21 from 5-7:30 p.m. at the JBE Playground

    There will be fun booths with food, games, and activities.  Educational booths will be set up with information about your child’s grade level next year. 

      Tickets are 4 for $1.   

  • Williston High School Students ‘Go Legal’

    Williston High School students from Mrs. April Palmer’s 4th and 7th period Law Studies classes will take on roles in a mock trial, which will take place on April 27 in the Williston High School auditorium 4th through 7th period.

    Just three miles north of Williston off CR 335 in the community of Raleigh, Vision Christian Academy is an alternative to the educational system in Levy County.  
    VCA offers students an opportunity to grow both spiritually and academically through a staff of  teachers, sound Biblical teaching and well-designed, customized, individual learning strategies, all within small classroom environments.

  • April Students of the Month honored by city council

    Williston City Council honored the April Students of the Month at its meeting Tuesday night.
    Mayor Gerald Hethcoat presented honors to:

    Anna Petteway, fifth grade student at Williston Elementary and daughter of    Carl and Brandy Petteway.        
    She was nominated by her teacher,  Nancy Bowman, who made the following comments:

  • Register for kindegarten at JBES

    Joyce Bullock Elementary Kindergarten registration begins Tuesday, March 22.  
    You can complete your packet at the Joyce Bullock Elementary School office Monday-Friday from 8:30-3 p.m.
     Children must be 5 on or before Sept. 1, 2011.
     You must bring the following documents with you: child’s birth certificate, Social Security card, and current physical and immunization record.  
    These items must be on file before the first day of school.

  • City council honors March Students of the Month

    Williston City Council honored the March Students of the Month at its last meeting. Students were given commemorative certificates and free pizza coupons, courtesy of King Munchie’s.
    Honored from Joyce Bullock Elementary was Sarah Dykstra, a second grade student, who is the daughter of Duane and Tina Dykstra.
