    Peanut Festival Applications

    The Williston Area Chamber of Commerce is now accepting vendor applications for the 31st Annual Central Florida Peanut Festival, scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 5 in Williston's Heritage Park.

    Vendors this year will choose their own spaces, so early application is suggested.

    Anyone wanting to help plan, organize or volunteer with the festival is encouraged to attend.

    Democratic Party Meeting

    Democrats of Levy County will meet this Saturday, May 18. The Democratic Party meets at 3:30, Democratic Women’s Club at 4:30. Both meetings are held in The Bronson Public Library, 600 Gilbert St. Bronson across from the Sav-A-Lot food store. Light refreshments will be served.

    FOWL Book Sale

    The Friends of the Williston Library will hold a book sale Saturday, May 11 from 8:30-11:30 a.m. at SE 1st Street and Noble Avenue.

    This will be the last sale until September and includes a large selection of children's book.

    AARP/Disaster Preparedness

    Salvation Army Maj. Dwayne Durham will give a Power Point presentation on Disaster Preparedness at the AARP Chapter 912 meeting Monday, May 13, in the Community Center at Williston City Hall, 50 NW Main St.

    Orange Hill Cemetery

    Orange Hill Cemetery will have its annual meeting Tuesday, May 7 at 6:30 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall.

    If you have a loved one there, come join the other volunteers that keep the cemetery looking nice.

      Healthy Living Fair

    Epperson Park in Williston is the setting for the Healthy Living Fair on Saturday, April 27. The fair runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and offers activities for all age groups including games, craft spaces, and mini-classes. Information on services and programs on a variety of topics from agencies in both our local and greater areas will be featured along with educational materials on a wide range of health topics.

    CEE Meeting

    Final details for participation in the Healthy Living Fair will kick off the agenda of Citizens for an Engaged Electorate on Thursday, Apr. 18 at the Community Center in Williston’s City Hall. The meeting begins promptly at 7 p.m. and ends at 8:30.

    Also on the agenda are the status of several bills advancing through the state legislature and the new city policy on parades and special events. Ballot initiatives and an update on the Medicare For All movement will also be covered.
