-A A +A

The public is invited to take an excursion back in time to the Golden Age of Transportation at an exhibit of “Railroads and Riverboats” at the Cedar Key Community Center, “F” and Sixth Streets, Cedar Key.

Sponsored by the Levy County Historical Society, the exhibit will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, Sept. 28; Saturday, Sept. 29 and Sunday, Sept. 30.

In addition to photographs of many of the riverboats that plied the waters of the Suwannee River from 1855 to 1922, the National Award Winning Ocala Model Railroaders’ Restoration Society will present a history of railroading through their operating model railroad exhibits.

The group has just returned from a National Model Railroad Conference in Kansas City, Mo. where they took first and second place awards for their layouts.

Admission to the exhibit is free.
