Mr. and Mrs. James Dean celebrate 72 years of marriage

James and Betty Dean of Williston will celebrate their 72nd wedding anniversary on Sunday, Aug. 28. 

 The couple was married in Ft. Lauderdale on Aug. 28, 1944 and moved from Miami to Williston in 1959.

Mr. Dean retired from the trucking business in 1987.  Mrs. Dean is a homemaker.  

The couple has one son, Mike Dean, and his wife, Wanda, of Thaxton, Miss. and one daughter, Cindy Tribby, and her husband, Brian, of Gainesville.  

They also have one grandson, Matt Tribby, and his wife, Sahar, of Ft. Collins, Col.

Mr. Dean is a veteran of World War II.  As a member of the United States Marine Corps, he served in the Pacific Theater, where he participated in the Guadalcanal and New Guinea campaigns.  He also spent time in Australia during the war.

Mr. and Mrs. Dean are members of the First Baptist Church of Williston and enjoy spending time with family and friends.
