WW Vets Luncheon

WWII Vets will meet April 12 in Chiefland at the Gathering Table at 11 a.m. This is a group of veterans, wives, friends, and caregivers.

Town Hall Meeting

Williston Councilwoman Nancy Wininger will host a town hall meeting Thursday, April 12 at 7 p.m. in the MP building on the campus of the old Williston High School.

Numbers Trivia Game

There was a life before Google and on April 14 teams will compete to see who knows the most number trivia during a fundraiser sponsored by Tri County Pregnancy Center.

Students from the band, FBLA, FFA, cheerleaders and football and basketball teams, will go head-to-head as they vie for money for their activities beginning at 4 p.m.

Teams are pre-selling tickets for $4 or they may be purchased at the door for $5. The team that sells the most tickets wins $100 for the club.

This is an audience participation event and audience members can help their favorite high school club by answering trivia.

Barbecue chicken dinners will also be available.

Meet and Greet with the Author

The Williston FFA and Friends of the Williston Library will host a Meet and Greet with author Debra Segal at 5 p.m. Wednesday, April 18 at the Williston Middle High School Ag Department, 350 Robert Philpot Way. Those attending should enter from Hwy. 41 and follow the signs.

Segal will discuss her book, Idylwild Cowgirls and how to publish your novel. Light refreshments will be served.

Memorial Service

Haven is hosting a Love & Remembrance Spring Memorial on Thursday, April 26 at 6 p.m. at the Haven Community Building located at 311 NE 9th St., Chiefland. Fashion Show

The Williston Woman's Club will hold its April Runway Fashion Show and Luncheon at 11 a.m. Friday, April 27 and Saturday, April 28 at the club, located at 1049 NE 6th Blvd., Williston.

The cost is $25 and all proceeds will benefit the scholarship fund.

Fashions are from Janet Carr Accessories and More of Sarasota. You may take your purchases home the same day.

Artists Needed

Exhibitors are needed for the Starving Artists Showcase, sponsored by the Williston Area Chamber of Commerce, to be held Saturday, June 9 from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. in Williston’s Heritage Park.

Artists in all media are invited to participate to showcase and sell their work. 

Booth space is available for $15 per booth.

Pick Up a Williston Map

The Williston Chamber of Commerce has updated city maps as part of its ongoing effort to assist tourists and newcomers to the eastern part of Levy County.

The maps include updated streets, roads and information for Williston and the surrounding area, including the Highlands and Bronson.

The maps are free and available at the Chamber from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Monday through Friday at 607 SW 1st Ave. For more information, call 528-5552.

DAV Needs Members

The Disabled American Veterans (DAV) is looking for disabled veterans to join the organization.

It meets the first Thursday of each month at 6:30 p. m. at Beef O’Brady’s, 7050 NW 140th St., Chiefland.
