HandiCapable Meeting

HandiCapable Sportspeople will meet noon, Saturday, Jan. 13 at the Black Prong Trail Head, located on CR 337 south of Bronson.

A free pulled pork sandwich will be included, and at 2 p.m. ideas about the group will be discussed.

The organization is looking for members of all classes, abilities, disabilities and ages.

Pasture Management School

The North Florida Pasture Management School at the UF/IFAS Extension Office in Bronson will be held from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Jan. 18 and 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Jan. 19.

The cost for the two-day school is $50, which includes lunch for both days, as well as break refreshments, notebooks and learning materials.

Topics Include:

· Forage Diseases

· Soils

· Fertilization

· Climate effects

· Varieties

· Measuring forage quantity and quality

· Poisonous pasture plants

· Weed management

· Pasture insect control

Field trips will be taken to see real world application.

Four Pesticide CEUs have been requested.

Woman's Club Luncheon

The Williston Woman’s Club and Junior Woman’s Club will host its Soup and Salad Luncheon from 11:45 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 21 at the clubhouse, located at 1049 NE 6th Blvd., Williston.

Adults can eat for $9; children 4-10 for $4 and under 3 years old eat free.

The price includes soup and/or chili, salad, bread, drink and desserts.

FOWL Book Sale

Friends of the Williston Library will host a book sale Saturday, Jan. 27 from 8:30-11:30 a.m. at 10 S.E. 1st St., Williston.


Another Way Auction

Another Way, Inc. will host The Grand Auction! from 7-9 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 10 at the Chief Theatre, 25 E. Park Ave., Chiefland.

This live auction will combine the resources of the corporate community with the resources of the small-town community to bid on items and have a good time for a great cause. As a community partner, please support Another Way, Inc. and the families it serves by donating an auction item and/or service for this event.

Food Pantry

The second Thursday of each month there will be a mobile pantry sponsored by From the Heart Ministry at the Masonic Hall in Williston. The doors will open at 11:30 a.m. All are welcome.

Square Dance Class/Dance

The time for the Clover Squares dance and class has changed.

The dance will be at 2 p.m. and the class at 4 p.m. Everyone over 10 years of age is invited to learn the US national folk dance.

Music With Ms. Sarah

Ms. Sarah's Music Program for Pre-Schoolers continues at the Williston Public Library every Wednesday from 10:30-11:30 a.m.

The library is located at 10 SE 1st St., Williston.

Tri-County Pregnancy Center

Tri-County Pregnancy Center has phased out walk-ins at the Williston center.  Please call for an appointment.  The center is open Monday-Friday, 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.

A non-profit organization, Tri-County Pregnancy Center exists to help women who are experiencing an unplanned pregnancy with emotional and practical assistance.  All of the services are free.

Lions Club Meeting

The Williston Lions Club meets on the first Monday of every month at 6 p.m. at the clubhouse, 401 SE 6th Ave., Williston.

The club hosts regular weekly and monthly events for all to participate and is always accepting new members and volunteers who want to help out in our community. Guests are welcome anytime.

American Legion Bingo

American Legion Post 236 of Bronson held a grand re-opening of Bingo at 6 p.m. Jan. 8 and every Monday thereafter at the same time.

Bring a friend and come join in the fun at the doublewide at 9550 Hwy 27 Alt toward Williston on the right hand side. Handicap parking is in the rear of the building.

Quarter Bingo will also start Wednesday from 1-3 p.m. starting Jan. 10 and every Wednesday thereafter.

Williston Junior Horseman’s Club

The Junior Horseman’s Club invites all children ages 5-17 years to participate in a fun, mounted horse club.

The Williston Junior Horseman’s club offers bi-monthly mounted meetings, introductions to a wide variety of disciplines, trail rides, games, mini clinics, hippology, field trips and much more! All disciplines, breeds and experience levels are welcome. Meetings are every other Tuesday from 6:30-8 p.m. at the Williston Horse Park.
