WE SOAR Summer Programs

WE SOAR, Inc. will host its 2017 Summer Enrichment Program June 5-Aug. 12 offering piano/keyboard lessons, drums/percussion lessons, dance, pantomime and drama.

Sessions will start in the evening from 6:30-8/9 p.m. at various locations.

Wininger Town Hall Meeting

City Councilwoman Nancy Wininger will host a town hall meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 8, in the City Council Chambers. Everyone is invited.

WWII Vets Luncheon

World War Vets II and Proud of it will meet at 11 a.m. June 8 at the Ivy House in Williston. Any vets, family, friends or caregivers are welcome to attend. The next meeting will be in September. For more information, call Virginia Lewis at 352-528-2310.

Archer Health Fair

The city of Archer and the Archer Community Center Advisory Board will hold a health fair and blood drive from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday, June 17 at the community center, 16671 SW 137th Ave., Archer.

WHS Class of '87 Reunion

The Williston High School Class of 1987 will hold its 30 Year Reunion at 6 p.m. July 22 at the GFWC Williston Woman's Club, 1049 NE 6th Blvd., Williston

The cost is $25 per person and includes dinner.

Alanon Meetings

Alanon meets at 7 p.m. every Monday at Midway Plaza.

Square Dancing

Every Wednesday in June there will be free classes for youth from 6 to 7 p.m. followed by a free supper.

Regular dance begins at 7 p.m. at the Williston Crossings RV Resort community center.

Mobile Food Pantry

The second Thursday of each month there will be a mobile pantry sponsored by From the Heart Ministry at the Masonic Hall in Williston. The doors will open at 12:30 p.m. All are welcome.

Buy a Paver; Honor Veterans

The plan to unveil a veterans’/war memorial in Heritage Park will be held Veterans Day 2017.

To date, more than $30,000 has been raised for the memorial.

A project by the Williston Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA), the memorial will also honor veterans – living and dead – with stone pavers at its base.

For $50 an individual can honor a veteran with a paver/brick that has space available for three lines to recognize the veteran’s service.

AL Post 236 Bingo

American Legion Post 236 hosts Bingo every Monday at 6 p.m. There are all-inclusive bingo packs for purchase. If enough players are there early, there will be an "early bird" game. The last game of the night is a "winner take all" game. These two games are purchased separately if you wish to play.

The post is located at 9550 Hwy 27 Alt in Bronson. For more information, call 486-5003. Bingo daubers are sold there as well.

Williston Junior Horseman’s Club

NEW MEMBERS WANTED: The Junior Horseman’s Club invites all children ages 5-17 years to participate in a fun, mounted horse club.

If your child loves horses and wants to learn more, this is the club for them.

The Williston Junior Horseman’s club offers bi-monthly mounted meetings, introductions to a wide variety of disciplines, trail rides, games, mini clinics, hippology, field trips and much more! All disciplines, breeds and experience levels are welcome.

Children with or without a horse are encouraged to participate.

Meetings are every other Tuesday from 6:30-8 p.m. at the Williston Horse Park.

Costs are $10/year plus WHA yearly family membership ($45/year)
