Woman's Club Playhouse

The GFWC Williston Woman's Club will host two more performances of Murder on the Oriental Rug at 7 p.m. Friday, March 15 and March 16.

Tickets are $10 and will be sold at the door. Proceeds benefit the scholarship fund.

The show features Danny Bennett, Mandy Fugate, Susan Travis, Penny Boyer and Mark Poupard.

Library MakerSpace

Levy County Public Library System branches will each be hosting a Wooden HOME Board MakerSpace Event. The library will provide all the materials needed for each family to create and decorate a wooden home sign with exchangeable holidays.

The events will be limited to the first 10 families that register at each branch.

The Williston Library will host the event Friday, March 15 and the Bronson Library will host it Monday, March 18. Both events start at 5:30 p.m.

Book Sale

Friends of the Williston Library will host its March Madness Book Sale from 8:30-11:30 a.m. Saturday, March 23 at 10 SE 1st St., Williston.

Disaster Preparedness for Churches

A free training opportunity for you and your staff courtesy of the Salvation Army and Levy County Emergency Management. March 26 from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Space is limited and pre-registration is required.

Designed for church leaders, this course is designed for churches and other faith-based organizations looking to start a disaster preparedness and response program. The course reviews key concepts in emergency management. It also examines the responsibility of faith-based organizations in preparing their members and facilities for an emergency and how to effectively develop a disaster response plan to serve others.

Pick Up a Williston Map

The Williston Chamber of Commerce has updated city maps as part of its ongoing effort to assist tourists and newcomers to the eastern part of Levy County.

The maps are free and available at the Chamber from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Monday through Friday at 50 N Main St. For more information, call 528-5552.

DAV Meetings

The Disabled American Veterans (DAV) is looking for disabled veterans to join the organization.

It meets the first Thursday of each month at 6:30 p. m. at Beef O’Brady’s, 7050 NW 140th St., Chiefland.

Post 236 Bingo

American Legion Post 236 of Bronson has "regular" bingo every Monday at 6 p.m. with light meals and on Wednesday those attending may play "Quarter Bingo" at 1 p.m. and offer snacks and drinks.

You do not have to be a member of the Legion to play.

The Legion is located outside of Bronson on US 27 Alt. The doublewide is a no smoking environment. Handicap parking is in the rear of the building.

Senior Activities

Oasis Community Solutions offers two weekly programs for everyone age 55 and over and caregivers of any age. Crafts class takes place every Tuesday from 10:30 a.m. to noon.

Every Thursday is Senior Social, from 10 a.m. to noon. Programs are offered at Fountain of Life Church, 623 E. Noble Ave. in Williston. Weekly attendance is not required; neither is church affiliation. Individuals are encouraged to drop in as their schedules allow. There is no charge to participate though donations are welcome.

Vendors Needed

Oasis Community Solutions and Ministerial Faith Alliance are seeking vendors for a series of Healthy Living Fairs. Each fair offers games and other activities for all age groups; information on services and offerings on a variety of topics from agencies in both our local and greater areas; and educational materials on a wide range of health topics.

The first fair is Saturday, April 27 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Epperson Park, located in Williston between 5th and 6th Streets and running from E. Noble Ave. all the way to SE 1st Avenue.

Deadline for applications is April 15. Space is limited in order to ensure enough space for free activities.

The annual Levy County Schools Evening of Excellence will be held at 5:30 p.m. May 13 at Chiefland Elementary School.
