Cattlemen Meeting
The Levy County Cattlemen and Landowners Association will meet at the Whitehurst Lodge Thursday, Oct. 14 at 7 p.m.
Anyone interested in joining is invited to attend.

Saturday, Oct. 16

Benefit Yard Sale
The Junction Tavern will hold a yard sale Saturday, Oct. 16 and Sunday, Oct. 17 with all proceeds going to provide Christmas to local needy children.
Donations are accepted during regular business hours–no clothing please.
Food items will be available.

Senior Dog Informational
A panel of experts will be at Trained Dog, Happy Dog Saturday, Oct. 16 to talk about a wide range of themes specifically related to the senior dogs in your family. Following each presentation there will be a question and answr session. After lunch break all experts will work together on two cases that will be selected from among those who pre-register for this event.

Oktoberfest Dinner Dance
Knights of Columbus, Council 8510 will sponsor an Oktoberfest Dinner Dance Oct. 16 at St. John the Baptist parish hall. 
The evening will feature authentic German cuisine of roast pork and kraut, brauts, red cabbage and potatoes.  Music will be provided by “The Carriers” with dancing till 10:30 p.m.  Doors open at 5:30 p.m. with dinner served at 6:30 p.m.
 The evening will also feature a “Basket of Cheer” door prize, a 50/50 drawing, basket raffles and a movie star game.
 Tickets are $15 each and are available at the church office or any Knight or by calling 352-489-6221.

Sunday, Oct. 17

Cornerstone Christian Academy Pumpkin Patch Fall Festival
Cornerstone Christian Academy, located at 1045 NE 6th Blvd., Williston will sponsor a Pumpkin Patch Fall Festival Sunday, Oct. 17 from 1-6 p.m.
There will be games, food and pumpkins available for purchase. Pumpkins will be available from 4-8 p.m. through Oct. 31.
Armbands will be $10 for children under 10, which will enable them to play the games as often as they want plus all three bounce houses.
The winner of the Pumpkin Decorating Contest will win a gift card to Walmart.

Friday, Oct. 22

Bats are Beautiful

Remember September’s mosquito infestation?  Pam Darty, US Fish & Wildlife Ranger at the Lower Suwannee Wildlife Refuge has the answer.  She will give a slide presentation on Florida Bats and Bat Houses at the Ellie Schiller Education Center in the Withlacoochee Gulf Preserve (WGP) at 1001 Old Rock Road, Yankeetown, Friday, Oct. 22 at 10 a.m.  Admission is free.
 If you hate mosquitoes, you’ll love this program.  Mosquitoes are the bat’s primary food.
 Bring a bag lunch. Then the Master Gardeners of Levy County will conduct a walking tour around the Salt Water Pond.

Holy Family Catholic Church will hold a Fall Carnival Saturday, Oct. 23 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.  There will be fun, food, games and prizes.

Bronson FOL
Friends of the Bronson Library are meeting Saturday, Oct. 23 at 10 a.m. at the Bronson Library.  New officers will be elected and nominations will be taken from the floor.
Input is need on fund-raising ideas and activities for this coming year.

Bronson Chamber Yard Sale

The Bronson Chamber of Commerce is planning a yard sale to benefit its Pumpkin Festival Oct. 30.
The yard sale will be Sept. 18 from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. at 404 N. Hathaway.

Love and Remembrance Memorial

The Haven Hospice Love and Remembrance Memorial is open to anyone in the community who has lost a loved one. Attendees are encouraged to bring pictures and mementos of loved ones that can be placed on our Table of Memories. Refreshments will be served. Registration is not required.
The memorial will be held Thursday, Nov. 4 at 6 p.m. at Haven Hospice Tri-Counties Care Center, 311 N.E. 9th St., Chiefland.

AmVets Post 444, located on Alt-27 just past the BP station on the left side headed toward Bronson, has Bingo every Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. The games are open to the public.
Senior Singles
Senior singles, 55 and older, who need friendship are encouraged to join a group in Williston that hosts activities and conversation.

Methodist Thrift Store
First United Methodist Church Mission Thrift store is open every Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. The store is located at 25 SW 3rd St., Williston.

Dunnellon VFW Post 7991
The Veterans of Foreign Wars at 3107 W. Dunnellon Rd, CR 488, Dunnellon presents: Breakfast, including a massive plate of victuals (10 items), is served the second and fourth Sunday of every month from 8:30 - 11 a.m. at a cost of $6.  BINGO with a progressive jackpot is held every Friday from 1:30 - 4:30 p.m.  Hot dogs, burgers and french fries are available.  Open to the public.
 Regular monthly meeting of the post and auxiliary(s) is at 5 p.m. to eat, 6 p.m. to meet the third Thursday of every month.

Lions Club Flea Market
The Williston Lions Club will open their Farmers’ Market every Saturday through December and hold Bingo every Friday at 7 p.m.
