  • Ft. White comeback downs Red...

    Last Friday night the Williston Red Devil football team played host to the Ft. White Indians at Booster Stadium.
    The game between the two teams took on a tale of two halves aspect as the Red Devils dominated the first half on both offense and defense.
    The Red Devils offense scored two touchdowns while the defense forced two turnovers on downs, one fumble recovery and one interception.

  • WMS shuts out Bradford 38-0

    If the Williston Middle School football fans were excited last week when the Red Devils shut out the Chiefland Middle School squad 48-0, their excitement continued Thursday night Sept. 27, at Booster Stadium.

    The entire first half was played in a constant down pour of rain as the teams took the field following a short delay.

  • JV team comes up short against...

       The Williston JV football team played a Tuesday night game at Booster Stadium as they hosted the Newberry Panthers.

    The Red Devil JV football team spent the biggest part of the first quarter on defense as the Newberry Panther JV put together several long drives but were unable to score.

    As the second quarter got underway the Panthers were forced to turn the football over on downs at the Red Devil 30-yard line.

  • Red Devils tame Wildcats;...

    Last Friday, the Williston Red Devil football team, all 18 players strong, hosted the Wildwood Wildcats at Booster Stadium. 

    Surprising to most Red Devil fans was the fact starting quarterback David Heinkel was dressed to play for the Red Devils. Heinkel was injured two weeks ago and was carried from the field.

    The Wildcats started the game with a quick on side kickoff and fell on the football at the Red Devil 48-yard line. The Red Devil defense held and the Wildcats had to punt.

    The cooling Gulf waters are proving to be great for fishing both in-shore and off-shore. All along the Nature Coast reports have shown an increase in fish activity. The cooling waters have turned the fish on and they are becoming more and more frisky.

  • Cooler weather will bring better...

    September has begun to do its job in cooling the coastal waters.
    Whereas a few weeks ago the temperatures were in the mid 80s, they have begun to fall.
    This week water temperatures have ranged from 81-83 degrees. Although this is a change of just a few degrees, it is often all the fish need to start feeding more.
    As fall sets in the temperatures are sure to only cool more and more quickly. This will open far more off-shore opportunities for amberjack, red snapper, and grouper.
