There wasn’t an unsympathetic person in the room when Frances LaSalle told members of the Williston Area Chamber of Commerce she needed over $1,400 to buy software to keep students safe at Joyce Bullock Elementary.
In fact, most everyone was willing to whip out their checkbooks and make a donation on the spot.
That’s when Dr. Bill Bennett said he had an idea.
This week, that idea manifested itself in the form of Jeff Ference, a Newberry businessman with strong Levy County ties who wanted to give back to the community that’s been so good to him.
