Williston City Councilman Jason Cason announced Tuesday night that he will not be seeking re-election in 2016.
The former council president said his job at Drummond Bank had now taken a permanent move to Chiefland and he and his family will be placing their Williston home on the market and moving outside the city limits.
Cason said it is his intent to fill his seat through the end of the term in April.
"I'm not going to be one of those – what do you call it?– lame ducks," he said. "I'm going to work."
