Approaching the truck with the raised hood, all that’s visible is a slim figure laboriously clanging away at a motor.

More Crabfest arrests made

After reviewing videos and photographs taken at Williston’s Crabfest April 27, Levy County law enforcement agents discovered that at least one more incident was occurring simultaneously with the shooting that left one man dead.

Pavilion may be ready by July

Despite a minor setback a couple weeks ago due to a storm water issue, progress continues with the improvements to the pavilion in the middle of Heritage Park.

County upgrading animal shelter

It was a busy day at the Levy County Animal Shelter on Tuesday. Many of the pens held pups, kittens, cats and dogs up for adoption and an animal officer was on his way in from Inglis with nine dogs while a resident walked in with two howling kitties.

Morriston man sought for theft; arrest made in Ace case

Staff Report

The Williston Police Department is seeking information on locating a Morriston man who may have passed forged checks Between March 31 and April 25.

According to Police Chief Dennis Strow, Angelo V. Leto Jr., 47, of Morriston is wanted on six counts of forgery, six counts of uttering a forged instrument, six counts of grand theft, six counts of petit theft and a count of  theft.

I turned around and suddenly he was a man

 It was just about this time of year 23 years ago that I was struck with a fast and unusual malaise.

I didn’t think a lot about it. I was a mother of two, ages 5 and 7, and working two jobs so it was only natural I was always fatigued.
