  • Celebration was inspiring

    To the editor:
I went to the Williston Veterans Day Celebration at the Heritage Park Pavilion Thursday evening.  I just have to share with those who weren’t able to go. It was awe inspiring!
There were many veterans from all branches of the service and one currently serving, waiting on his orders to go over there again.
The Williston High School Band played superbly the National Anthem and many other songs. They are awe-

  • Our View

If  you thought that Mayberry was a meandering dream that lives only on TV Land, guess again. Last Thursday, for the 11th year, the city of Williston paid homage to our military veterans in its annual celebration at the pavilion in Heritage Park.
Patriotic music, moving speeches and the sight of  our nation’s true heroes sitting in a row moved many to tears in the stirring 90-minute event.

  • Thank you, Lilly Rooks and Nancy Bell

The citizens of Levy County owe a huge debt of gratitude to both Ms. Lillie Rooks and Ms. Nancy Bell as they retire from service on our Levy County Commission.  Ms. Rooks and Ms. Bell have served with high distinction, honor, integrity and good faith for many years.

    Question:
How do you replace a damaged Social Security card?
    Answer:
While you can replace your Social Security card for free if it is lost or stolen, you may not have to do so. Knowing your Social Security number is what is most important. You may need a new card if you are starting a new job and your employer asks to see the card. For more information about getting a replacement card, go to www.socialsecurity.gov/ssnumber.

    Question:

  • It’s not witty or daring–it’s just my life

I never thought my life was anything out of the ordinary. Sure I’ve had some random adventures over the years, but who hasn’t?
However, this past month was one I’m ready to put behind me–once and for all. It was an October to remember–and forget.
But I suppose it started a week before that. I developed a little cough, along with a sinus headache. Ah, September, I thought. Allergy time.
