  • Schools Foundation says ‘thanks’

     To the editor:

  • Hospital care was exemplary

     To the editor:

I am writing to all the citizens of our wonderful town of Williston just to give my opinion of Tri-County Hospital.

My 96-year-old mother spent a week in the care of Dr. Martin and his efficient staff. The care was exemplary and  the staff was outstanding in their dilegent attention to my mother.

I think  we will have a hospital to be proud of and the future bodes well for the new  take over of ownership.

    Thank you.

    Janet Murtha

  • WAG needs your help

    To the editor:
Williston Animal Group ( WAG) has saved the lives of nearly 3,000 dogs in our community.  Now it is time for the community to save the life of WAG.  Due to a greatly increased number of abandoned dogs, increased cost of food and medical treatments, WAG’s operating funds are rapidly being depleted.

  • Wake up, America

    To the editor:
President Obama and Vice President Biden have said repeatedly that the economy is slowly getting better and that  we have “turned the corner” and that we see a clear road ahead.
What they have failed to say is that the first thing they see on that road is a big yellow and black sign that says “Dead End.”

  • Hospital could bring positive changes

    To the editor:
       Re: Tri County Hospital

  • Williston is a great city

    To the editor:
Tri-County Pregnancy Center would like to thank the community for supporting MacKenzie Henderson in her food drive challenge for our center.  The response was wonderful!

  • Letter to the editor

    To the editor:
The other day while I was at the post ofice, I noticed an advertisement flyer for their new “Go Green” stamps. This was double-sided 8.5”x3.75” multi-colored flyer.
I realize that we (the general public) must purchase stamps  to put our correspondence into the postal delivery system BUT this is a government monopoly and does not need to advertise their product. Where or who do we go to if we need stamps–the USPS (and their distributors)  because only they can produce and sell the product–the STAMP.

  • City workers get kudos

    To the editor:

I want to publicly thank two of our city employees, Paul Lord and Kurt Heine.  While reading our gas meter, Paul thought he smelled gas and reported it.  A pin-hole leak was found on the city side and within two hours the pipe was replaced.

And even though we don’t like to see trees cut back, the tree trimmers, Michael Miller and Franklin Tyndal, also need to be recognized for the very dangerous work they do to keep limbs out of the power lines.

  • Wake up America, we have a sin problem

    To the editor:

In the aftermath of the Friday night massacre in Aurora, Colo., one only needs to turn to the statements of Mike Huckabee, former Arkansas governor and presidential candidate

“We don’t have a crime problem or a gun problem, or even a violence problem. We have a sin problem.

And since we ordered God out of our schools and communities, the military and public conversations, we really shouldn’t act so surprised when all hell breaks loose.”
