     No grass grew under my feet once I landed at Sydney International Airport. After almost 24 hours spent in travel, I was quickly whisked away at the airport by my son, where we boarded a train that took us over to Sydney Harbor, where we then transferred onto a ferry which would take us over to Manly Beach. Reality set in as the ferry cruised past the historic Sydney Opera House and the Sydney Harbor Bridge– “I’m in Australia.”

    Three people were arrested Wednesday, March 6, on charges of manufacturing and selling meth out of the Bronson Motel while a 5-month-old infant was also in the room, according to a Levy County Sheriff’s Department press release.

    Red Devils Varsity Baseball went two out of three last week putting an end to their home field winning streak.
    After a convincing win and shutout against Bradford on Tuesday and another big 8-4 win over Dixie County on Thursday night, Ft. White put an end to the Devils’ winning streak with a nail biting 3-0 victory over the mighty Red Devils.

  • WHS grads: your biography is needed now

    Big is not necessarily better, we’ve heard. “Portraits of Success” is a project of the Williston Public Library to gather together information about Williston graduates…Williston, a small Florida town of about 2000 people. The project requests that Williston graduates submit a one-page biography which includes those people or experiences of Williston who made or which made them the people they are today.

  • Levy courts hand down sentences

    The following people were sentenced in Levy County courts during October 2012:
    David Apling, VOP on possession and sale of controlled substance, revoke probation, 30 months with credit for 339 days served on each, served concurrently. Must pay VOP cost, civil judgment and jail fund.
    Lloy Frances Balboni, VOP on possession of controlled substance, adjudication withheld, reinstate and modify probation. Must pay VOP cost, civil judgment and probation cost.

  • Levy County Sheriff's Report

    The Levy County Sheriff’s Office reports the following arrests:
    Feb. 28, Joseph Ray Ainsworth, 18, Bronson, lewd and lascivious behavior on victim age 12-16. Bond $200,000.
    Feb. 28, Wayne Allan Bancroft, 47, Inglis, four counts battery, with violence. Bond $250,000.
    Feb. 26, Enjoli Nicole Brady, 30, Brooksville. FTA.
    Feb. 27, Ariell M. Brock, 27, Chiefland, DWL expired, obstruction W/OV. Bond $1,000.
    Feb. 25, Robert Wayne Carter, 37, Bell, grand theft. Bond $35,000.
