    • Aug. 11, Krista Lynn Biehl, 20, Chiefland, DUI. Bond $500.
    • Aug. 12, Omar Jamil Blake, 38, Chiefland, grand theft, theft of trade secrets. Bond $20,000.
    • Aug. 9, Tyree Lamont Brown, 31, Williston, DWLS-habitual. Bond $2,500.

    Movie In The Park
    The city of Williston presents a Movie in the Park at the Heritage Park Pavilion Friday, Aug. 25, beginning at 7:30 p.m.
    The movie – a tale as old as time – is a recent adaption of a timeless childhood classic.
    Admission is free and popcorn and drink will be provided free. Bring a chair or blanket and your family.

    Vet Fest
    Meridian SSVF and ForVets are sponsoring a Vet Fest Saturday, Aug. 26 from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. at Otter Springs Park and Campground, 6470 SW 80th Ave., Trenton.

  • Third person arrested in murder investigation

    The Levy County Sheriff's Office has arrested a third person in connection with the home invasion that took the life of James Patterson. Steven Demar Stacy, 34, of Williston is accused to disposing of the firearms used in the home invasion. To date the firearms have not been recovered.

    • Aug. 1, David Albritton, 42, Morriston, non-support of children or spouse.

    • Aug. 1, Richard Irving Avis, 38, Bronson, sexual battery on victim under 12 years of age. Bond $1 million.

    • Aug. 6, Michael W. Barcinas, 35, Williston, possession of cocaine, and/or use. Bond $26,000.

    • Aug. 5, Kayla Brianne Castor, 23, Trenton, VOP.

    Gospel Fest

    The 16th Annual WE SOAR Gospel Fest will be held Saturday, Aug. 12 at Unity Temple International Fellowship, 2351 NE 200th Ave., Williston.

    Doors open at 4 p.m. and the music starts at 5 p.m. Featured musical guests include Danny Nunn, Wanda Cobb, The Kingdom Singers, Anne Mixon Stacy, Dancing with a Purpose and Inspirational Daughters of Joy.

    Movie In The Park

    The city of Williston will present another Movie in the Park night beginning at 7:30 Friday, July 28 at the Heritage Park Pavilion.

    Admission is free and popcorn and drink will be provided free of charge. Bring a chair or blanket and your family and enjoy the movie.

    The Poley Horne Reunion will be held Sunday, Aug. 1 at the Levy County Quilt Museum beginning at 10 a.m. You are invited to come early to catch up on family news. Lunch will be at 12:30.

    • July 23, Santos Bautista, 27, Williston, no DL, giving false ID to LEO.

    • July 17, Raymond Allen David Brown, 20, High Springs, out of county warrant.

  • A Life Remembered

    It’s been 29 years since David Moss walked the streets of Williston, doing what he had sworn to do: serve and protect the city’s residents.

    It was Saturday, July 30, 1988 when Cpl. Moss of the Williston Police Department was shot and killed while attempting to assist with what was thought to be a disabled vehicle.

  • It was always Vanessa

    I was 9 when my older brother, Eugene, married Vanessa; 10 when they made me an aunt with the birth of David and almost 19 when they divorced – now the parents of three sons.

    It was a hard divorce for me even though I was away at college.
