Touted as “family fun” and an opportunity to “build community,” a “Color-A-Thon” occurred in Williston the second Saturday in March. Hosted by Joyce Bullock Elementary and Williston Elementary Schools, the fundraiser was the first of its kind in the area. With 436 people registered, the event raised $15,000 with a profit of around $9,000 to be divided between the two schools.
With less than 50 percent of Levy County's registered voters going to the polls Tuesday, the clear front runner in the Presidential Preference election was Donald Trump who took 57.64 per- cent of the 6,497 Republican votes cast.
Trump received 3,745 votes – more than the total cast for all the Democrat candidates.
