    The Levy County Sheriff’s Office reports the following arrests:

    • March 15, Earnest Brown Sr., 60, Williston, out of county warrant. Bond $2,000.

    • Feb. 16, Eric Leonard Adams, 40, Inglis, possession of controlled substance without a prescription. Bond $25,000.

  • Sexual predator missing

     

    The Levy County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s assistance in locating absconded sexual predator Lamont Lewis Nelson, 34. Nelson is described as a African American male, 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-7 inches tall, between 150 and 175 pounds.

    On the coldest night of the year, the visiting Red Devils from Williston won the fifth inning  – and subsequently the game – when the Indians couldn’t find the catcher’s mitt.

  • Man set afire after explosion

    A Williston man is being treated at Shands for injuries he sustained this morning (Wednesday) after an electric radiator exploded.
    Paul Dennis Jr., 77, of 141 NE 11 St., put an electric radiator heater in an outdoor fire to burn off the wiring prior to scrapping it, according to Williston Police Chief Dennis Strow. The heater contained oil, and once heated, exploded setting Dennis' clothing on fire.
    Norman James, a neighbor, heard the explosion and rushed to his neighbor's aid.

  • Meth lab dismantled

     

    Staff Report

    The Levy County Drug Task Force – acting on tips from the public and provided through Crime Stoppers – located and dismantled a methamphetamine lab in the Ocala Highlands West area and arrested a Morriston man. More arrests are expected in the case.
