    The Levy County Sheriff’s Office reports the following arrests:

    • March 14, Duncan Ryan Anderson, 28, Williston, hit and run, DWLS.

    • March 18, Dejean Alfredo Baker II, 35, Alachua, DUI.

    • March 14, Chastity Ball, 41, Gainesville, VOP.

    • March 18, William Brehm, 52, Chiefland, DUI. Bond $2,500.

    • March 15, Andy Raul Carrillo, 39, Bushnell, aggravated assault, battery, criminal mischief. Bond $105,000.

  • Creature of habit

    No exaggeration, I get close to 400 emails daily through the editor address; another 200 in my main personal account. With over 600 emails each day, I often overlook something or file something in a trash folder that's not really garbage.

    Monday morning as I sifted through the 1,200 work emails since Friday, the above graphic caught my eye and rather than send it automatically to trash, I read it.

  • Business of the Month

    Regional General Hospital was selected Business of the Month for March by the Williston Chamber of Commerce. The hospital was chosen for its outdoor improved aesthetics and its continued involvement with the Chamber and the community.     FOWL Book Sale

    The Friends of the Williston Library will hold its spring book sale Saturday, March 24 between 8:30-11:30 a.m.

    There will also be a table of non-book treasures.

    AL Pig Roast

    The Sons of the American Legion Post 236 will host a pig roast and membership drive Sunday, March 25 beginning at 2 p.m. to commemorate Vietnam Veterans Memorial Day later in the week on March 29.

    Veterans will eat free and all others will pay $8 per plate.

    The post is located at 9550 Alt. 27, Bronson.

    • March 6, Troy William Banning, 51, Archer, grand theft, resisting W/OV. Bond $20,000.

    • March 5, Cristina Rose Bierner, 37, Fanning Springs, lewd/lascivious behavior on victim 12 or older and younger than 16. Bond $50,000.

    • March 10, Edward Terrance Bove, 57, Florida, DUI. Bond $5,000.

    • March 9, Terrell Adolpsht Bryant, 27, Tallahassee, DWLSR. Bond $1,500.

    Peanut Butter Drive

    Levy County Farm Bureau will host its annual Peanut Butter Food Drive March 1-16 from 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. at its offices located at 208 NW Main St., Williston or 312 E. Park Ave., Chiefland.

    Peanut butter donations will be presented to the First United Methodist Church Food Bank in Williston, Another Way in Chiefland and Tri-County Outreach in Chiefland.

  • Open for Business

    Back Door Antiques, owned and operated by Jim Smith (center with scissors) was officially welcomed to the Williston Chamber of Commerce March 8 with a ribbon cutting ceremony held in conjunction with the store's grand opening. Dozens of Smith's supporters, friends and Chamber members were on hand to wish him well in the business located on East Noble Avenue.

  • Williston Cleanup is March 24

    The first city-wide cleanup of 2018 is scheduled for Saturday, March 24 from 8 a.m. until noon.

    There's something for everyone to do.
