    It’s a sad fact: many people have hurting hearts.

    Sometimes that pain comes from addiction: drugs, alcohol, sex, food. Sometimes it’s caused by loss: death, divorce, poor communications.

    Another sad fact is many people who are suffering from broken hearts think they are the only ones and that they have no where to turn to find healing and restoration.

    And that’s where they are wrong.

    Kelly Stevens and Jacquie Goss Potter know there is help for the broken hearted and they want to help.

    The use of food stamps in Levy County increased during the recession, assisting families in stretching their food dollars, contributing to local spending and helping spark a national debate about the future of the federal nutrition program.

    Sitting against the wall, Estra Boyd is barely aware of the flurry of activity around her as she watches a skein of yarn morph into yet another crocheted project in her hands.

    Connie Dolloff is busy on the floor, sandwiching three large pieces of fabric into what will soon be a delightful homemade craft.

    Linda Hall is enthusiastically showing off multi-colored quilt tops, all ready to become table runners, casserole covers or baby quilts.

     Many people learn to cook by watching and helping a more experienced cook. Today that is enhanced by a myriad of cooking shows–(food even has its own network!), seaching the Internet, buying scores of magazines and occasionally even reading a cookbook.

    It's encouraging to know that after years of doing nothing, absolutely nothing, to enforce the codes it has on the  books regarding buildings and property, the city of Williston is finally taking a step in the right direction and taking some action to correct wrongs.
