What a traumatic experience, to be involved in a vehicle collision, but was it a true accident or was it a "staged collision"? There are some collisions that are "staged" and are "criminal conspiracies" where criminals intentionally place motorist and their passengers in harm's way by staging collisions for financial gain.

Just a few weeks ago, I wrote what a good time I had at the Levy County Fair.

That really hasn't changed, but a few revelations about the financial condition of the Fair have put a new spin on things.

Forget the legal problems; they should clear up. It's the fact that the Fair is in the red that should concern people, especially local governments.

By the way, if you pledged money to the Fair Association to help with expenses, and you haven't lived up to you pledge, please do so. But that's another matter.

First of four parts

BRONSON - Levy County Property Appraiser Francis Akins recently provided the first of four informational releases to explain a ballot question set for the Jan. 29 election.

Akins said that based on an average of 18 mills, a home valued at or above $75,000 would generate about $188.50 in savings if this proposed revision to the Florida Constitution is approved by voters.

Akins performed more calculations to show actual savings at current millages for various parts of Levy County for the increased Homestead Exemption amendment.

Christmas and even New Year's is past for another year. We have all somehow survived one more year of trying some new recipes and making the traditional ones. It seemed like I would never be done; there was always one more recipe to prepare. But then, a few days before Christmas, everything was made and stored so that gift plates could be made and Jim and I would have goodies throughout the remainder of the season.
