    • May 25, Juanita Batten, Bronson, DUI

    • May 20, Carolyn Berryhill, Gulf Hammock, false Medicaid claim, pay for Medicaid referral.

    • May 20, Lori Cherbonneau, Williston, careless driving, DUI and damage property. Bond $250.

    • May 25, Jeffery Neal Cherry, Bell, disorder intoxication in public place, battery. Bond $2,000.

    • May 25, Todd Evan Davis, Archer, possession of cocaine, possession marijuana not more than 20 grams. Bond $6,000.

    Dick Williams was 24 years old when he first set foot on the beaches of Normandy as part of the D-Day invasion.

    A medic, Williams saw the horror of war first hand–images he never forgot and in 2012 published his memoir "Men of Iron: A Tribute to Courage."

  • Williston gets good audit news

     

    The news from Williston's independent auditor for the past two years has been a welcomed change from years past.

    Instead of long lists of recommendations on what needs to be improved, recent audits are what's done right.

  • Red Devils are state champs

    The 91-year-old drought is over.

    The Williston Red Devils defeated Chipley tonight 4-0 for the state 1A championship at JetBlue Park in Ft. Myers.

  • Red Devils in state championship Tuesday

     For the first time since 1923, the Williston Red Devils are in the finals of the state baseball tournament.

    The home team will play Chipley tonight at 7:30 p.m. at JetBlue Park in Ft. Myers.

    The Red Devils defeated Paxton 4-0 Monday night for the right to play in the finals.

    It's springtime in Williston, and officially summertime is just six weeks away. Those pleasant daytime temperatures and cool sleeping nights are a thing of the past. The thermometer has started to creep up to 90 degrees plus and the humidity is just around the corner.

    At Williston High School, this means the start of spring football practice.

    The Red Devils have started this 2014 spring practice with a new outlook on the upcoming sessions.
