The discussion on whether to extend alcohol beverage sales hours from a midnight cutoff to a 2 a.m. cutoff is being delayed until the Levy County Commission meeting on April 2.
The decision came during Tuesday’s regular meeting where a workshop on proposed changes to the county’s alcohol ordinance had been scheduled. But that was called off after some citizens protested the timing of the meeting — 1 p.m. — would force citizens who wanted to address the issue to take time off from work.

Our winter has been unusually warm with very little freezing temperatures and no lengthy periods of cold weather. 

This will create a bit of confusion for the fish and their normal patterns of habitat. When normally the fish have found deeper waters, ran up into the rivers and off the flats or just found muddy bottoms around docks or shorelines, they now are acting more like they would if it were already spring or even fall.

As this outstanding basketball teams season comes to an end, I too, am saying “So long.”  

Over the last 7 1/2  years, I have had the distinct privilege to cover some of the most outstanding, well mannered young men and women participating in high school sports today. I am speaking of the young men and women in Williston, who are proud to be called Red Devils.

From football to basketball, volleyball and softball, baseball, and the cheerleaders.  And I certainly won't forget the annual Award Banquets I have covered.

The Red Devils played one of their most difficult games of the season Saturday as the Red Devils traveled to Lake Highland Prep in Orlando for the Class 4A Regional Final.

 The Red Devils could not buy a basket for the entire first half of play as they fell behind the Highlanders 37-15 at halftime.
