Recent moves by the county commission – most notably, an uptick in millage, a new gas tax, department cuts and reallocations, and, going forward, a cap on employee insurance plans – have helped paint a more optimistic financial future for the county.

  • A Life Remembered

It’s been 29 years since David Moss walked the streets of Williston, doing what he had sworn to do: serve and protect the city’s residents.

  • Williston sets tentative millage

Unwilling to raise ad valorem taxes, the Williston City Council voted 3-1 Tuesday night to set the tentative millage rate the same as the current year at 5.8627 mills.

Council President Charles Goodman was the lone dissenter, qualifying his "nay" vote by saying he'd rather raise it high then lower it further along in the budget process.
