  • Voters head to polls Tuesday

     

    It's time to vote folks. 

    The primary election is Tuesday, Aug. 26, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., but voting has been underway for quite a while. 

  • Levy County Sheriff's Report

    The Levy County Sheriff’s Office reports the following arrests:

    • Aug. 4, William Michael Carryer, 19, Bronson, VOP.

    • Aug. 4, Rhiannon Cribbs, 20, Morriston, grand theft. Bond $20,000.

    • Aug. 5, Chad Alexander Cumbo, 30, Bronson, VOP.

    • Aug. 5, Jessie James Eichelberger, 44, Williston, battery on person age 65 or older. Bond $50,000.

    • Aug. 8, Blake Fontana, 20, Morriston, four out of county warrants. Bond $100,000.

  • Candidates meet, greet and answer questions at forum

    If anyone came expecting fireworks at the candidates forum hosted by VFW Post 5625 and the Chiefland Citizen, they were likely to come away disappointed. But hopefully they came away better informed.

     The Levy County Sheriff’s Office reports the following arrests:

    • Aug. 2, Joey Berry, 26, Trenton, open container, possession of drug equipment. Bond $1,000.

  • Shouldn't the punishment fit the crime?

     

    It's encouraging to know that after years of doing nothing, absolutely nothing, to enforce the codes it has on the  books regarding buildings and property, the city of Williston is finally taking a step in the right direction and taking some action to correct wrongs.

    They're all names synonymous with art.

  • Free school give away Aug. 9

    First Baptist Church of Williston will hold its 4th Annual Back 2 School FREE Clothes Giveaway; Aug. 9 from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.

    The inventory is low and the church asks for your donations.

    Please ask your friends and neighbors for new and/or gently used children’s clothing, jackets, shoes and socks and donate them to First Baptist Church Williston at 339 East Noble Ave. (across the street from Drummond Bank)

  • Two hospitalized in wreck

    One person was airlifted and another was transported to Shands Hospital at UF Health following a Friday July 18 wreck involving three vehicles on U.S. Highway 27A south of Bronson.

    Frederick Anthony Roech, 43, of Bronson was airlifted with serious injuries, while the passenger in his vehicle, Kimberly Dawn Moore, 39, of Bronson, was transported due to minor injuries.

    The Levy County Sheriff’s Office reports the following arrests:

    • July 25, Valrize Latrice Bristol, 34, Bronson, domestic.

    • July 25, Marcus Kevron Burch, 29, Lake City, criminal attempt to solicit, battery, grand theft. Bond $50,000.

    • July 21, Demetrius Kenard Christia, 21, Williston, fraud, no valid DL, petit theft. Bond $11,500.

    • July 27, Kristi Cooprider, 26, Inglis, two counts FTA. Bond $2,000.

    • July 25, Raymond Standford Crouch, 42, Chiefland, out of county warrant.
