Two Williston convenience store workers were arrested last week on charges of selling alcohol to a person under 21.

The man who opened fire in the middle of a crowd at the 2013 Crab Fest, killing one person and wounding four others will serve a minimum 20 years in a plea deal sealed in Levy County Circuit Court on Friday.
The Levy County Sheriff’s Office reports the following arrests:
•Sept. 8, Shelley Kay Andrews, 39, Chiefland, DWLSR, possession of marijuana. Bond $1,000.
Trial has been set for Monday, Sept. 28 for Devonte Tremaine Ocasio, charged with the death of one man and the wounding of four other people during the 2013 Crab Fest in East Williston.

The property tax rate will remain at its current rate of 8.2741 mills and the assessments for fire, EMS, solid waste and roadway maintenance will remain the same.
Careful budgeting and department management have enabled the city of Williston to keep its millage rate at 5.8627 for FY 2015-2016.
The rate, a .9 percent increase over the rollback rate, was set during the city council's first public hearing last week.
