    Hello and welcome to Your Sheriff?s Corner. Today I will reflect on the history of Thanksgiving. In the month of November, we all think of fall colors, hot cocoa, and cozy nights by the fire. Many also think of a long weekend, with football, family, and promising food.

  • Levy County Sheriff's Reports

    Officers with the Levy County Sheriff?s Office recently arrested the following people.

    Lisa Marie Collins, 20, of Williston was arrested Nov. 9 for domestic battery and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. Bond $5,000.

    Jarvis D. Penny, 22, of Williston was arrested Nov. 9 for domestic battery. Bond $2,500.

  • Williston police reports

    The Williston Police Dept. announces the following arrests:

    Brenda Kay Reagan, 46, of Southwest Eighth Place, Williston, was charged with domestic battery after allegedly striking her roommate.

    Raul Garcia, 21, of Southeast Fifth Terrace, Williston was charged with resisting without violence, careless driving and failure to yield while making a left turn after he was involved in an auto accident and denied he was driving the vehicle.

    Hello and welcome to Your Sheriff?s Corner. As we begin to feel the first winds of winter, I would like to remind all our citizens to keep safety in mind when cranking up the fireplace or space heater, including making sure that smoke detectors are working.

    Disaster can occur in seconds, but following a few safety tips will keep your family safe.

    Kerosene Heaters

    Be sure your heater is in good working condition. Inspect exhaust parts for carbon build-up. Be sure the heater has an emergency shut off in case the heater is tipped over.

  • Levy County Sheriff reports

    The following people were arrested by members of the Levy County Sheriff's Office as suspects in crimes, according to records provided by the LCSO.

    * John Edward Blair Jr., 41, of Newberry was arrested on an Alachua County warrant on Nov. 7 for dealing in stolen property. No bond.

    * Gerald R. Coleman, 37, of Williston was arrested Nov. 5 for aggravated battery and obstruction of justice. Bond $17,500.

    * Denise Stefanik, 37, of Chiefland was arrested Nov. 6 for two counts of dealing in stolen property. Bond $15,000.
