  • Williston Police Report

    Williston Police Department reports the following arrests:

    • Curtis Callen Smith, 60, of Newberry was charged April 19 with retail theft when he allegedly took items from Hitchcock’s.

    • Michael A. Washington, 28, of Archer was arrested for leaving the scene of a traffic crash and driving with a suspended license April 24.

    Arrested on outstanding warrants were: Alfred James Irving, 20, of Gainesville; Jeremiah Sampson, 18, of Williston; Tina Marie Watson, 27, of Williston and Stephani Soraci, 34, of Layfaette.

  • Levy County Sheriff's Report

    The Levy County Sheriff’s Officer reports the following arrests:

    Carl Brant Cumbo, 28, of Williston was charged with petit theft, resisting without violence and trespassing April 12. Bond was $5,000.

    Joasa Roy Ware, 22, of Fanning Springs was charged April 12 with theft and dealing in stolen property. Bond was $6,000.

    Donald Tyrone Wright, 21, of Fanning Springs was charged April 12 with dealing in stolen property. Bond was $5,000.

  • Williston man charged with aggravated battery

    Just before 2 p.m., Wednesday, April 14 Marion County Sheriff’s Office got an emergency call about a shooting at 30 Pecan Run Drive, Ocala.

    The investigation revealed James Burchett Jr., 24, of Williston came to the home looking for his wife. She, Sabrina Burchett, their 2 year-old son and an acquaintance who became the victim, Levi Anderson, were inside the home.

  • Sheriff's Report

    The Levy County Sheriff’s Department reports the following arrests:

    • Eric William Elson, 37, of Chiefland was arrested April 21 for possession of paraphernalia at the Levy County Courthouse during a routine pat down when entering the building. Civil deputies discovered a glass pipe that was still warm and called sheriff’s deputies to the scene. It was learned Elson had missed his court date and was also charged on a warrant for failure to appear (FTA) for possession and paraphernalia. Bond was $25,000.

  • Levy County Sheriff's Report

    The Levy County Sheriff’s Officer reports the following arrests:

    Ronald Webster Cannon, 30, of Chiefland was arrested for burglary of a residence, two counts grand theft and burglary/conveyance April 7. Bond was $40,000.

    Jason Earl Solomon, 30, of Crystal River was arrested April 9 with VOP for burglary of a dwelling and VOP grand theft. No bond.

    Ronald Howard Housekeeper, 36, of Chiefland was arrested April 9 for VOP weapons and possession of a deer. No bond.

    Sean Stacy Abbott, 42, of Bronson was charged with battery April 10.

  • Williston police reports

    Williston Police Department reports the following arrests:

    Michael Wayne Puckett, 21, of Williston was charged April 9 with felony battery.

    L. Shaun Williams, 29, of Florida City was arrested on a Miami-Dade County warrant for battery April 10.

    Willie Sherman, 19, of Williston was charged with resisting arrest without violence April 6.

    Keith Antonio Manning, 40, of Orange Lake was charged with possession of marijuana during a traffic stop April 11.

    Michael W. Holland, 60, of Williston was charged with domestic battery April 10.

  • Levy County Sheriff's Report

    The Levy County Sheriff’s Office reports the following arrests:

    Ryan W. Truillard, 24, of Ocala was charged March 19 with Violation of Probation (VOP) battery. No bond.

    Danielle Shante, 21, of Williston was charged March 18 with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest without violence. Bond was $1,000.

    Carlos McKinley Green, 26, of Bronson was charged March 17 with four counts possession of less than 20 grams of cannabis, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and three counts sale of cannabis. Bond was $60,000.

  • Three accidents claim two lives

    Two Morriston men were killed in unrelated automobile accidents over the weekend.

    Details have not been released by the Florida Highway Patrol on the wreck that claimed the life of Delonte Reese, 20. Reese was killed around 8:30 a.m. Saturday at Hwy. 41 and 21st Place.

    The Levy County Sheriff’s Office reports the following arrests:

    Brian R. Bible, 24, of Cedar Key was charged with domestic battery March 5. Bond was $5,000.

    Quilla M. Oates, 35, of Williston was charged with fraud/insufficient funds March 4. Bond was $6,100.

    Valrize Latrice Bristol, 39, of Bronson was arrested March 3 with domestic battery. Bond was $2,500.

    Joshua B. Robinson, 20, of Williston was charged with Violation of Probation (VOP) aggravated assault with a weapon. He was released on his own recognizance.

  • Man charged on six counts after high speed chase

    A Williston man was charged with six different offenses Friday night after police officers responded to a domestic battery call where the victim reported her boyfriend, Vincent Donnell Peterson, 49, had pulled her from the car, threw her to the ground and sped off toward East Williston in her vehicle.

    Officers went to the “Gambling House”, located in East Williston but Peterson left at a high rate of speed.
