  • Levy County Sheriff's Reports 7-19

    The Levy County Sheriff’s Office reports the following arrests:

    July 12, James Devon Baker, 46, Morriston, two counts FTA. Bond $2,500.

    July 10, Jose Angel Barrera, 31, Melbourne, VOP. Bond $5,000.

    July 14, James Bowen, 45, Inglis, disorderly intoxication.

    July 10, Jamie Lee Burton, 39, High Springs, three out of county warrants. Bond $15,000.

    July 15, Salvador Jose Cavillo, 33, Brooker, battery. Bond $10,000.

  • Quick draw’s first victim –himself

    A man  who was practicing his “quick draw”  at a friend’s home shot himself in the leg, according to a Levy County Sheriff’s Office press release.
    Deputies said when they responded to a call about a shooting at a home on Northeast 61st Place in Bronson, they found  Robert Bishop,  62, had a single gunshot wound in the back of his right calf.

  • Next teen driver classes are July 18-19

    The Levy County Sheriff’s Office, Community Relations Division, is offering a no cost, Teen Driver Improvement Program to all Levy County students who have a current Operators License or Learners Permit or who are about to get their Learners Permit.

    The goal of this program is to educate the teen drivers of Levy County of the dangers of aggressive driving, distracted driving, impaired driving and to reinforce the benefits of seatbelt use.

    July 5, James Franklin Barrs, 49, Fanning Springs, disorderly intoxication, two counts abuse without great harm to child, aggravated battery. Bond $110,000.

    July 5, Robert Alan Bender II, 29, Cedar Key, battery. Bond $20,000.

    July 4, Monica L. Cannon, 30, Dover, out of county warrant. Bond $500.

    July 2, Marvin  Eugene Cooper III, 24, two VOP. Bond $20,000.

    July 7, Ledrick Lataurus Ferguson, 37, Bronson, battery. Bond $500.

    The Levy County Sheriff’s Office reports the following arrests:
    June 27, Basil Jamaal Buie, 29, Chiefland, two counts FTA.
    June 29, Antonio Martinez-Calero, 29, Williston, no DL. Bond $1,000.
    June 29, Boyd Wayne Chandler, 35, Inglis, out of county warrant. Bond $2,500.
    June 28, Gerald Edward Cook, 48, Williston, possession of drug equipment, disorderly intoxication, obstruction W/OV.
    June 25, Bryan Jacob Crosby, 20, Bronson, two counts grand theft, two counts dealing in stolen property. Bond $60,000.

    June 19, Carrie Megan Berger, 29, Williston, aggravated battery. Bond $2,000.
    June 20, Boyd Iris Chisolm, 52, Chiefland, assault with deadly weapon without intent to kill. Bond $30,000.
    June 22, Peggy Congley, 43, Chiefland, two out of county warrants. Bond $1,000.
    June 23, Samuel Joseph Debolt, 27, Bronson, DWLS. Bond $2,000.
    June 21, Frantisca Ebeth Delpapa, 26, North Vernin, Ind., disorderly intoxication.
    June 22, Kelly Lynn Dyals, 46, out of county warrant.

     The Levy County Sheriff’s Office reports the following arrests:

  • County OKs voice for Williston PD

    For the first time Williston Police Department officers and the Levy County Sheriff’s deputies will be able to communicate seamlessly and it only cost $2,077.37 for the solution to a problem that has put a wall of silence between their two radio systems.

  • Two busted on drug charges at motel

    Two Williston men were arrested June 8 after the police department received information that drug activity was occuring at the Williston Motor Inn.
    Sgt. James Bond set up surveillance to monitor the motel, and after witnessing a transaction, he and PFC Kevin Sheppard confronted the suspects.
    During the field interrogation  of Kelvin Hill and Ricky Duncan II, the officers discovered  the suspects were in possession of crack cocaine and marijuana.
