  • Rolling resident arrested in robbery

    Chiefland police say they found 22-year-old John Christopher Champion with his wheels spinning, trapped in the sand behind a local convenience store Wednesday.

    “Yeah I stole the beer,” he told police, perched upon his motorized wheelchair, already drunk and swigging a Bud Light Lime, a report stated.

  • Four arrested in home invasion, robbery

    Four Williston men have been charged in the home invasion robbery, beating and attempted shooting of a Bronson man in his home while his mother, stepfather and two children, ages three and seven were inside the home, according to a Levy County Sheriff’s Office press release.
    Investigator Roger Bell arrested Christopher Pate, Jeovany Ortiz, Janiel Perez and Armando Perez on Saturday following a 911 call from the home.

  • ATV accidents kill 2, including girl, 12

    Two people died — a 12-year-old and a 22-year-old, and a child, 5, was injured in two separate four-wheel ATV (all-terrain vehicle) accidents, while another four people were injured in two vehicle accidents all in Levy County this weekend, according to Florida Highway Patrol reports.
