    • Oct. 13, Tonya Michelle Andrews, 40, St. Cloud, petit theft, retail theft.

    • Oct. 23, Tamara Askew Brown, 52, Old Town, petit theft, VOP, dealing in stolen property.

    • Oct. 13, Paula Alejandra Clairmont, 35, Chiefland, battery. ROR.

    • Oct. 19, Michael Defilippo, 38, Williston, domestic battery.

    • Oct. 15, Karen Edwards, 42, Chiefland, DWLSR, possession of marijuana, possession of drug equipment. Bond $12,000.

    • Oct. 11, Kimberly Delores Downing, 25, Cross City, VOP.

    • Oct. 7, John Hennessey, 23, Newberry, producing marijuana, arson, aggravated battery, two counts selling marijuana within 1,000 feet of a place of worship.

    • Oct. 11, Eric Len Henry, 24, Williston, out of county warrant.

    • Oct. 10, Matthew Carl Huston, 26, Chiefland, DWLS.

    The Levy County Sheriff’s Office reports the following arrests:

    • Sept. 29. McRobert Conrad Alphonse, 47, Archer, abandonment of an animal. ROR

    • Oct. 4, Kim Marie Bouterie, 47, Brooksville, burglary with assault or battery. Bond $15,000.

    • Sept. 29, Ehren Michael Brown, 36, Williston, out of county warrant. Bond $2,160.

    • Oct. 1, Leland Donald Deighton, 20, Old Town, failure to register motor vehicle. ROR.

    • Oct. 3, Margaret Marie Draper, 52, Old Town, petit theft, fraud. Bond $3,500.

  • Sex predator moves to Williston

    On Sept. 19 Lazarus Calhoun Jr., 46, registered as a sexual predator with the Levy County Sheriff’s Office. By Florida law Calhoun is required to notify law enforcement whenever he changes addresses.

    Calhoun was convicted in 1997 in Alachua County for sexual battery. He was released from the Florida Department of Corrections and has registered his address as: 21161 NE 35 St., Williston.

    • Sept. 16, Paul Lavell Alexander, 36, Williston, two counts VOP.

    • Sept. 16, Thomas Alvarez, 44, Williston, obtaining goods or services. Bond $1,000.

    • Sept. 16, Terry Lee Arnold, 41, Inglis, DWLS-habitual. Bond $2,500.

    • Sept. 18, Brianne Brown, 29, Williston, stop pay with defraud. Bond $1,000.

    • Sept. 1, Ranie Ronald Baker, 55, Inglis, out of county warrant. Bond $250.

  • Courts hand down sentences

     

    The following people were sentenced in Levy County courts during March:

    Paul Lavell Alexander Jr., VOP on 2 counts of cocaine possession, probation reinstated and modified to have curfew from 7 p.m.-6 a.m. Must pay probation and VOP costs.

  • Jury finds for Citizen in Andrews’ suit

       A Levy County jury has unanimously decided the Chiefland Citizen did not damage Andy Dennis Andrews’ name, reputation and businesses in a 2007 editorial calling for fair, clean city elections, and a series of stories about a state investigation into 11 voters’ right to vote in Chiefland elections.
