    • March 19, Christopher Branson, 21, Chiefland, DWLSR.

    • March 15, Joseph Butcher, 37, Chiefland, possession of a controlled substance w/o a prescription, possession not more than 20 grams, use, possession manufacturing paraphernalia. Bond $3,000.

    • March 19, Miles Christianson, 38, Ocala, DWLS, possession not more than 20 grams. ROR.

    • March 15, Johnny Lee Coleman Jr., 46, Chiefland, fleeing, DWLS.

    • Jan. 27, Noah Keith Bevins, 35, Inglis, two out of county warrants, possession of ammunition by a convicted felon, obstruction W/OV, possession of a controlled substance, and/or use. Bond $86,555.

    • Jan. 24, Michelle Anne Cooper, 53, Ocala, out of county warrant. Bond $5,000.

  • Jury finds for Citizen in Andrews’ suit

       A Levy County jury has unanimously decided the Chiefland Citizen did not damage Andy Dennis Andrews’ name, reputation and businesses in a 2007 editorial calling for fair, clean city elections, and a series of stories about a state investigation into 11 voters’ right to vote in Chiefland elections.

  • Stolen Mustang leads police on two-county chase

    This past Monday, Williston Police officers responded to a new building under construction to a report of an auto theft.

    Upon the officers' arrival it was learned that a 2007 Ford Mustang Cobra had been stolen and the thief struck another car as he left the parking lot fleeing west on Noble Avenue.

    A short time later, a Levy County deputy observed the stolen car strike two more vehicles in Bronson. When the deputy attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle, the stolen car attempted to elude the deputy and drove east on US-27 toward Williston.
