  • Students of the Month honored

    The Williston City Council presented its first Student of the Month awards at its Tuesday evening meeting.

    The council decided recently to honor outstanding students at each of the Williston schools on a monthly basis to underline the importance of education and to recognize those young people who embody the best of Williston.

    Joyce Bullock Elementary students started the year off right by demonstrating positive behaviors on the bus in January.

  • Band students perform at state function

    Williston High School Band students Mark Julian, and Kirby King, were invited to take part in the Florida Music Educators' Association and Florida Bandmasters' Association convention by playing in the All State Small Schools Honor Band in Tampa Jan. 10-12.

  • Superintendent's Gala scheduled for February 2

    The Levy County Schools Foundation (LCSF) will host its eighth annual Superintendent's Gala on Saturday, Feb. 2. The event, which includes dinner and musical entertainment, will take place at 6 p.m. in the Williston Middle School cafetorium.

    The Gala is the premier fund-raiser for the Levy County Schools Foundation, a not-for-profit organization established in 1989 to support Levy County schools. The event has become a Levy County tradition, providing an opportunity for members of the business community, civic leaders, and local residents to gather in support of local education.

  • Safety Patrols congratulate winner

    The Williston Elementary School Safety Patrols congratulate Homosassa resident Clayton Williams, who won the Mossberg 12 Gauge Pump Shotgun donated by Bobby and Faye Wells of the Horse Hole Mud Bog. Proceeds from this opportunity drawing went directly into the safety patrol treasury and will be used to help defray expenses for the annual trip to Washington, D.C.

    The Levy County Schools Foundation (LCSF) announces its eighth annual Superintendent's Gala to be held on Feb. 2. This year's event, "A Night on Broadway", which includes dinner and special entertainment will be held at the newly completed Williston Middle School Cafeteria at 6 p.m.
