Central Florida Community College recognized 14 students who completed the Certified Nursing Assistant program at the CFCC Levy Center on Tuesday, Oct. 7.

Receiving Certificates of Completion were Brittany Arrington, Kathleen Basham, Samantha Davis, Casey Ford, Amanda Hodge, Kristen Holland, Christina Judd, Gabriella Knapp, Jody Knight, Laura Odom, Morgan Perryman, Bernadette Preble, Kimberly Robinson, and Kimberly Shelton. Receiving recognition for perfect attendance were Kathleen Basham, Kristen Holland, Kimberly Robinson and Kimberly Shelton.

Last Saturday was the day for Levy County residents to "Stuff the Bus," providing school supplies for local teachers to help their students. From the left, Lydia Bridges, her daughter Maycie, and Margie Zanders of Williston Middle School accepted donations at Hitchcock's in Williston.

Williston Elementary School will hold a "Meet the Teacher" day on Friday, Aug. 15, from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m.

The school will have an open house on Tuesday, Aug. 26, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. A full group assembly for parents and grade level teachers will take place in the multi-purpose room at the following times: 5:30 for fifth grade, 6:30 for third grade and 7:30 for fourth grade. Special area teachers will be introduced and then will proceed to their classrooms to meet the parents and answer questions. After School/SES Providers will be set up in the Media Center.

Free, reduced meal program

Reminder to Parents about Application for Free and Reduced Meal Program

Students will receive 2008-2009 application forms for the Free and Reduced Meal Program when school starts. They will be instructed to take these forms home to parents.

Parents are reminded that they must complete and return the 2008-2009 application forms for free/reduced meals during the FIRST 30 DAYS of school, even if their children were enrolled in the program the previous year (the 2007-2008 school year).
