  • Willie “Doug” Tanner

    BELL–Willie “Doug” Tanner, 86, of Bell, died March 12, 2011 at the VA Hospital in Gainesville.  Born in Sandersville, Ga., he moved to Bell in 1975 from Hague.
    He was a member of Hardeetown Baptist Church and  served his country in the US Army.  He was a truck driver and a minister, and enjoyed working in his yard.

  • Audrey Lorene Segriff

    UTAH–Audrey Lorene Segriff, 81,  died  in her sleep on Wednesday, March 9, 2011 from an inoperable tumor on her lung.
    She was born Jan. 7, 1930, in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, and was married Jan. 21, 1950 in Toronto, Ontario to John W. Segriff. They had three sons and a daughter, Bill, Jack, Rod, Cindy. The family came to the United States in December 1964.

  • Melvyn Amons Courtney

    Melvyn Amons Courtney, 72, of Williston died March 11, 2011.
    He was born June 14, 1938 in Tampa to Amons Sr. and Lena Courtney.
     He moved to Williston in 1975 from New Jersey after retiring from the United States Army after 20 years of service. He was of the Baptist faith and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Williston. He then went to work at the University of Florida were he retired after 29 years as a chemical engineer.

  • Dorothy A. Chanclor

    MORRISTON–Dorothy A. Chanclor, 73, of Morriston died March 10, 2011.
    She was born July 28, 1937 in Lockhart, Ala. to John and Nora Geoghagan.
    She moved to Morriston, three and a half years ago from Lexington, Ky. She was of the Baptist faith. She worked as a supervisor at Jackson Memorial Hospital for 28 years.  She enjoyed gardening and reading.

    LAKELAND–Barbara Sapp Cantin, 62, died March 6, 2011 at Lakeland Regional Hospital, following a prolonged illness.
    She was born April 23, 1948 in Williston, the daughter of Leo and Barbara Sapp.

    Ruth “Esther” Bramble-Budd
    OLD TOWN–Ruth “Esther” Bramble-Budd, 97, died Feb. 24, 2011.
    Born in Still Pond, Md.  April 30, 1913 to Jacob H. Bramble and May Jane Wiltbank-Bramble, she attended schools in the Eastern Shore of Maryland and was active in sports.

    Elizabeth Gramling  Brown
    CHIEFLAND–Elizabeth Gramling  Brown, 82, of Chiefland died  Monday, Feb. 21, 2011 at her home.
      Born in Madison County, she had spent her lifetime in the Tri-County area.   She was a member of Hardeetown Baptist Church, the Ladies Auxiliary and the VFW of Chiefland.  She was a hair stylist and homemaker who enjoyed flowers and gardening, crocheting and sewing.

    WILLISTON–Franklin Jay Baver, 67,  of Williston died Feb. 3, 2011.
    He was born Aug. 27, 1943 in Pittsfield, Mass. to Dr. Charles L. and Jane(Freeman) Baver.
    He moved to Williston 18 months ago from Philadelphia, Pa. He was born in Pittsfield, Mass. and lived in Lennox, Mass., Lexington, Ky, Clinton Corner’s, N.Y., and Philadelphia, Pa.

    WILLISTON–Franklin Jay Baver, 67,  Williston died Feb. 3, 2011.
    He was born Aug. 27, 1943 in Pittsfield, Ma. to Dr. Charles L. and Jane Baver.
    He moved to Williston 18 months ago from Philadelphia, Pa. He lived most of his life in Lexington, Ky. and Lennox, Ma.
    He worked as a horse trainer most of his life.
    He is survived by his ex-wife and good friend, Karen Blaho; daughter, Veronica Baver; sister Sally Hart and Luane Baver; grandchild Erin Justin and one on the way.

  • Patricia Smith

    Patricia Smith, 73, of Cedar Key died Jan. 23, 2011.
    She was born Aug. 20, 1937 in Portola, Calif. to Dewey and Mertie Hastings.
    She was of the Catholic faith but attended church at the Christ Episcopal Church of Cedar Key. She moved to Cedar Key in 1989 from Kentucky with her husband Robert B. Smith.
    She was the owner of a book store in Cedar Key for many years. She volunteered her time at the Cedar Key Library. She enjoyed reading, listening to music and needle point.
