    CHIEFLAND–Danny Frank Calidonio, 50, of Chiefland, died at his home. 

     Born in Green Castle, Ind.,  he moved to Chiefland from Miami in 1985.  He was an auto mechanic and enjoyed fishing.

    James Donald Jordan
    CHIEFLAND–James Donald Jordan, 85, of Chiefland died April 19, 2011 at Haven Hospice of the Tri-Counties in Chiefland.
    Born in St. Petersburg,  he moved here from Largo in 1985. He was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church in Trenton. He retired from the U.S. Military after serving his country during WWII in the Coast Guard for four years and the U.S. Army for 16 years.
    He enjoyed traveling, bowling, woodworking, painting and gardening and received many awards during his life.

    Paul Stanley Bell Sr.

    CHIEFLAND–Paul Stanley Bell Sr., 66, of Chiefland, died April 8, 2011 at his home. 

    Born in Camden, N.J., he moved to Chiefland in 1972.  He was self employed as a mechanic for over 34 years.  He was a member of the Moose Lodge, was an avid collector and enjoyed fishing.

    Helen Brannon
    Williston–Helen Brannon, 90, of Williston died April 10, 2011.
    She was born Oct. 2, 1920 in Tampa to Michael and Ora Guerra.
    She moved to Williston in 1975 from Clewiston. She was of the Baptist faith. She worked as a payroll clerk for many years. She enjoyed doing needlepoint and loved to cook.
     She is survived by sons Ken (Sharin) Brannon and Steve Brannon; grandchildren Rachel Brannon, Jeffery Brannon and Mathew Brannon.

    Reba Mae Fender Griffin
    BRONSON–Reba Mae Fender Griffin, 86, of Bronson and Panama City Beach died March 30, 2011
    She was born Oct. 29, 1924 in Macon, Ga., the youngest of five children born to Percy L. Fender and Bessie Carter Fender.  The Fender family moved to Bronson when she was two. She  graduated from Bronson High School in 1942, where she played basketball and was on the Ladies Town Team.

    Audrey G. Anderson
    BRANDON–Audrey G. Anderson, 85, of Brandon and formerly of Ruskin, died March 19, 2011 at Sun City Center Hospice House in Ruskin after a brief period of declining health.
    Born in St. Cloud, Oct. 4, 1925, she was the daughter of the late James B. and Grace S. Hickman Tyner. She  graduated from Hillsborough High in Tampa in 1943 and Elgin Community College in Elgin, Ill,. in 1982.

    Trenton–George Carrel Arrington, 89, died Thursday, March 17, 2011 at Haven Hospice in Chiefland.
    He was born  Nov. 21, 1921 to Newton and Cora Arrington. He was born and raised in Levy County and worked as a  supervisor for the state of Florida for 26 1/2 years while farming his land in Trenton.
     He was a member of the Chiefland Church of Christ. He loved to fish and enjoyed working.

  • The Rev. Luther Ray Stokes

    WILLISTON–The Rev. Luther Ray Stokes, 86, of Williston, retired long-time evangelist and minister of the United Methodist Church, died  Saturday, March 12, 2011 at the Lake City Veterans Administration Hospice Serenity Place.
     A native of Homewood, Miss., he was born Oct. 16, 1924 at the old home place in Scott County, Miss. to the late Earnest and Ethel Stokes.

  • Frank F. Hicks

    Bronson–Frank F. Hicks, 72, of Bronson, died Monday, March 7, 2011 at North Florida Regional Hospital in Gainesville.
    He was born in Richlands, Va. to Flem and Nora Hicks. He retired in Tampa as a technical Sergeant in the United States Air Force. He lived there for 20 years before moving to Bronson. He was involved in the Bronson Road Church, loved old westerns, stock car racing and fishing.
    He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Wanda Hicks; brothers,  William M. and Joe Hicks; sister, Freda Moore and three grandchildren.
