  • Richard M. Rogers

    Richard M. Rogers, 81, of Gainesville and formerly of Chiefland died Oct. 22, 2009.

    He was born Feb. 21, 1928 in Miami to Edward and Bessie Rogers. He was of the Protestant faith. He moved to Gainesville two years ago from Chiefland.

    He is survived by his wife of 60 years Aida Rogers; son Richard E. Rogers; daughters Aida G. Johnson, Mary Ann Rogers, Jennie Lee Gue; seven grandchildren and two great- grandchildren on the way.

    Arrangements were under the care of Knauff Funeral Home-Chiefland.

     

  • Franklin Eugene Womack

    Franklin Eugene Womack, 88, of Chiefland, died Oct. 23, 2009.

    He was born Jan.12, 1921 in Avoca, Neb. to Luther and Lorraine Womack.

    He was of the Baptist faith. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. He then went on to work for General Motors as a mechanic were he worked and retired after 30 plus years.

    He moved to Chiefland in 1997 from Jacksonville.

    He is survived by his son Roger E. Womack; daughter Pamela Ann Womack; caregivers and friends Preston Richburg and Tracy Richburg; along with many friends from Chiefland and Cedar Key.

  • Robert Owen Moore Sr.

    Robert Owen Moore Sr., 65, of Newberry died Oct. 18, 2009.

    He was born April 28, 1944 in Miami to James and May Moore. He served in the United States Air Force. He worked as a customer service engineer for IBM. He moved to Newberry in 1996 from Hollywood. He was of the Baptist faith and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bronson. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and working with computers.

  • Deborah Frost Reeves

    Deborah Frost Reeves, 55, of Crystal River died Oct. 16, 2009.

    She was born Jan. 5, 1954 in Fort Knox, Ky. to Noel and Dorothy Frost.

    She was of the Methodist faith. She worked as an ad designer at the Citrus County Chronicle for many years. She had lived in Crystal River since 1975 moving there from Largo. She loved to bowl and enjoyed collecting lighthouse memorabilia. She also enjoyed traveling.

  • Carrie Green Cates

    Carrie Green Cates, 39, died Monday, October 12, 2009 at Shands at the University of Florida.

    She was born in Burlington, Vt. Sept. 17, 1970 to James and Deborah Green.

    She lived the majority of her life in New Hampshire where she was a member and sang in the choir at the Epson Bible Church. She and her five children had only recently moved to the Bronson area in August 2009.

    She enjoyed meeting all the people that lived in the area as well as attending and singing in the choir at the First Baptist Church in Bronson.

  • Ralph C. Craner Sr.

    Ralph C. Craner Sr., 85, of Williston, died Oct. 11, 2009.

    He was born Feb. 18, 1924 in Wildwood, N.J. to the late Carl and Alice Craner.

    He was of the Baptist faith and a member of the First Baptist Church in Williston. He worked as a milkman for most of his life.

    He served in the United States Army and Navy. He moved to Williston, seven years ago from Crystal River. He was a member of the VFW, DAV and Cooties. He loved to do paint by numbers; he enjoyed shooting pool and throwing darts.

  • Janetta Mae Nyland

    Janetta Mae Nyland, 82, died Sunday, Oct. 4, 2009 at North Florida Regional.

    She was born in Plymouth, Mass. Aug. 22, 1927 to William and Laura Reynolds.

    She moved from Louisiana to Bronson 24 years ago. She was Protestant by faith. She enjoyed traveling, bingo, crocheting, dancing and ceramics.

    She is survived by her son William Schuster (Janna),; daughters Cindy Grandmaison, Nancy Swanson (George) and Terry Hammond; brother Morris Reynolds; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

  • Karen Ann Snyder

    Karen Ann Snyder, 56, of Chiefland died Oct. 5, 2009 at her home.

    Born in Beckley, W.Va., she had been in Chiefland four years. She had worked for the city of Maitland as a receptionist and meter reader.

    She is survived by her daughters Andrea Snyder of Chiefland, and Laurie Roberts of Casselberry; sister Sherry Vittozzi of Orlando; brother Keith Huffman of Atlanta, Ga. and her grandchildren Kali Morrill, Nathan McFann, Jacob Nelson, Peyton Nelson, all of Chiefland, and Christina Roberts, Jonathan Roberts, Thomas Roberts, and Nikki Saylor, all of Casselberry.

  • Antoinette DeBella

    Antoinette DeBella, 87, died Saturday, Oct. 3, 2009 at the Williston Health Care and Rehab Center.

    She was born in New York, N.Y. May 10, 1922 to Ralph and Vita Trotta. She moved to North Miami Beach and worked as a receptionist and secretary in a mailroom.

    She was married to her husband Alfred DeBella Sr. for 49 years before his death in 1989.

  • Rita Jane Clary

    Rita Jane Clary, 63, died Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2009 at home surrounded by her family.

    She was born to Walter Lee and Viola Jane McCurry on Feb, 28, 1946. As a teenager she moved to Gainesville, working at the Diana Shops and the Credit Bureau in Gainesville.

    Upon her marriage to her husband, Tom, she was a homemaker and mother.

    After the children were raised, she worked for North Florida Mini Storage and Monument Company.
