Williston Mayor R. Gerald Hethcoat and the city council paid tribute to Dr. Kenneth Wise Tuesday night, saluting him for his 50 years of service to the community. Dr. Wise came to the Chiefland area after graduating from the University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine in 1964 and eventually established his practice in Williston in 1976. Through that practice, and his service at many hospitals from Williston to Ocala and Gainesville, Dr. Wise became "part of the fabric of the community, reflecting the highest ideals of service and commitment to others." Dr. Wise retired earlier this year and the council wished him a happy and healthy retirement.
