  •  Al and Carol Norman of Elberton, Ga.  announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Ashley Caroline, to Spencer Andrew Risner, son of  Carolyn (Tom) Ten Broeck of Williston and Bill Risner of Canon, Ga.

  •  Jennifer Tyson and Clayton Stinson announce their engagement and forthcoming marriage Saturday, Oct. 19 at 1 p.m. at the Trail Riders Club, behind the Dixie County Health Department, off Hwy. 19 in Cross City.

    Ms. Tyson is the daughter of Sue Tindale and Mr. and Mrs. James Tindale.

    The future groom is the son of Clifford and Jackie Stinson.

    Following the wedding at 2 p.m., the Stinson Family Reunion will be held at the same location. Those attending are asked to bring a covered dish.

  •  Coach Jamie Baker and his wife, Tricia, announce the engagement of their daughter, Makayla Baker to David Heinkel.

  • Jason Cason and Hallie Priest Cason announce the birth of their son, Reeden Eugene Cason, born at 11:32 a.m. July 12 at North Florida Regional Hospital in Gainesville. 

    The baby was 20 1/2 inches long and weighed 8 pounds, 8 ounces. 

    Grandparents include Jake and Marion Cason and Hallie and Karen Priest, all of Williston. 

     Great-grandparents are Bonnie Herin, of Macon, Ga. and Doug and Tommie Woody of Macon, Ga.

    For three glorious nights, nearly 20 churches of the local faith community joined together for a powerful inter-denominational revival that drew crowds of more than 300 people each night. 

    On July 11, 12 and 13 the Ministerial Faith Alliance, which is made up of congregations from Williston and the surrounding areas, held the event at Unity Temple International in Williston. 

  •  Greg and Denise Hamilton of Williston announce the forthcoming marriage of their son, Zachary Pearson Hamilton to Dixie Lee Trimm, of Grovetown, Ga., daughter of James and Wanda Trimm.

  • Over 75 people braved threatening skies to attend Williston's National Day of Prayer ceremony at noon last Thursday.

    Speakers, representing more than a half dozen churches, took turns praying for the country, state, leaders and families during the hour-long service held at the gazebo in Heritage Park.

    The ceremony marks the 62nd year for the National Day of Prayer, said Williston organizer Mayor R. Gerald Hethcoat. The theme for this year’s commemoration is “Pray for America” , Hethcoat said.
