  • Chelsea Allyse Traylor of Williston and Luke Edward Wendlandt of Carrollton, Ga. were joined together in marriage on Sept. 27.

    The bride is the daughter of Greg and Pam Traylor of Williston. The groom is the son of Jerold Wendlandt of Carrollton, Ga. and Darla Cross of Panama City.

    The couple resides in Gainesville.  

  •   Mr. and Ms. Damon Sandlin of Williston announce the engagement of their daughter, Victoria Hope, to Andrew J. Masseo, son of Marisol Masseo of Williston and the late Mr. Andrew S. Masseo.

    Ms. Sandlin graduated from Williston High School and will graduate from the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences at the University of Florida in December.

    Mr. Masseo graduated from Williston High School and is currently stationed at Fort Stewart, Ga. serving in the United States Army.

    The Christmas Eve wedding will be held in Williston.

  • The engagement of Adrienne Victoria Moody to Allen Martin Beasley is announced by her parents, Mrs. Owen Baynard, and Mr. and Mrs. Horace A. Moody of Destin.

    She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Pansy Robinson of Bronson.

    The bride-elect is a 1999 graduate of Chiefland High School.

    She is a graduate of Santa Fe College with associate degrees in arts and science. She is employed by Edmiston and Edmiston PA in St. Augustine.

    The future groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Bruce A. Beasley of Ethel, La.

  •  Mr. and Mrs. James G. Dean celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary Aug. 28. 

    The couple was married in Ft. Lauderdale Aug. 28, 1944 after James, a member of the U. S. Marine Corps, returned from the South Pacific, where he participated in the invasions of Guadalcanal and New Guinea.

    After the end of WWII, the couple resided in Miami until 1959, when they moved to Williston.  He spent his early years in Levy County and the return brought them closer to family.

    In celebrating my recent birthday, I found myself caught up in a case of nostalgia. I never imagined I would really get this old. Not that I am old, mind you, but I have reached the point in life I never thought I would when I was younger. Had I known I would get this old, I would have saved some of the energy I wasted during my teenage years.

    How was I to know that as you got older your supply of energy began diminishing?
