Calling High School Juniors

Santa Fe College will host a pair of recruiting events geared toward high school juniors in November. The events will be held Thursday, Nov. 16, from 10 a.m.– 12:30 p.m. on the Northwest Campus of Santa Fe College, 3000 NW 83rd St., Gainesville.

Juniors will get to explore a variety of potential degree programs as well as meet with current college students and organizations. This incredibly helpful event will inspire juniors to discover a potential college option, while giving insight into important college preparation steps.

TDC Meeting

The Levy County Tourist Development Council (TDC) will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 2 at 620 N Hathaway Ave., Bronson.

CEE Luncheon

Citizens for an Engaged Electorate will host their monthly Open Discussion Luncheon Thursday, Nov. 2, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Melanie's Restaurant, 112 E. Noble in Williston. Join any discussion going on within the group or start one of your own. No topic is off-limits, so long as the discussion is kept respectful.

Instead of “Lions and tigers and bears, O my!” it was “Turtle and snake and gator, O Wow!”

Three representatives from the Santa Fe Zoo, which is on the campus of Santa Fe College in Gainesville, made it (finally!) to Williston on Saturday afternoon, Sept. 30, after Irma postponed their Sept. 9 visit to present “Florida Natives,” an educational presentation about the importance of Florida native species.

NC Business Council Meeting

The Nature Coast Business Development Council will hold its regular monthly board meeting at 3 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 12 at the College of Central Florida’s Jack Wilkinson Campus, 15390 Hwy 19, Chiefland.

Due to the membership of the NCBDC consisting of more than one member of the Levy County RESTORE Act advisory committee, this meeting will also serve as a meeting for the Levy County RESTORE Act advisory committee.
