  • Karon Johnson’s smile is the first thing that greets you when he enters a room and it never leaves his face, even when sharing the adversity that plagues his life.

    While he is an imposing figure of a man, his voice is soft much like his demeanor. However, it is that smile that speaks loudly and proudly of who he is. 

    Reared in Dunnellon,  Johnson graduated with honors in 1997 and set out to work in his chosen career of juvenile corrections.

  • I was born and reared in Kentucky, resided in Georgia for 17 years and now Florida for eight. There’s no question I am a Southern girl through and through.

    That fact has always been obvious, especially when I was with  family and friends who lived in the North. They laughed at my accent and marveled at the way we did things in the South.

  •  Coach Jamie Baker and his wife, Tricia, announce the engagement of their daughter, Makayla Baker to David Heinkel.

  • Jason Cason and Hallie Priest Cason announce the birth of their son, Reeden Eugene Cason, born at 11:32 a.m. July 12 at North Florida Regional Hospital in Gainesville. 

    The baby was 20 1/2 inches long and weighed 8 pounds, 8 ounces. 

    Grandparents include Jake and Marion Cason and Hallie and Karen Priest, all of Williston. 

     Great-grandparents are Bonnie Herin, of Macon, Ga. and Doug and Tommie Woody of Macon, Ga.

  • Have you ever  had a craving that you couldn’t explain where it came from?

  •  I’m not a breakfast eater–never have been. I suppose the biggest reason is I don’t eat eggs–except in cookies, cakes and pies.

    For three glorious nights, nearly 20 churches of the local faith community joined together for a powerful inter-denominational revival that drew crowds of more than 300 people each night. 

    On July 11, 12 and 13 the Ministerial Faith Alliance, which is made up of congregations from Williston and the surrounding areas, held the event at Unity Temple International in Williston.

  •  Greg and Denise Hamilton of Williston announce the forthcoming marriage of their son, Zachary Pearson Hamilton to Dixie Lee Trimm, of Grovetown, Ga., daughter of James and Wanda Trimm.
