    Fish Fry
    Holy Family Catholic Church will have its monthly Fish Fry Friday, March 11 at the Parish Hall, located three miles north of  Williston on Hwy 27A from 5-7 p.m.
    Fish, french fries, hushpuppies, drinks, dessert and your choice of two sides of baked beans, coleslaw, or grits will be served.
    Cost is adults $7, senior citizen meal (slightly smaller portion) $6 and children $4 (under 12). Take out orders welcome.

  • Ms. Tracy Whitaker of Bonifay and Mr. and Mrs. Durwin D. Hanson of St. Johns announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Mindy Nichole Hanson to Brian Joseph Estevez, son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Estevez of Archer.
    The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Atrice and the late Travis Turner of Bonifay and Fred and Virginia Perkins and the late Durwin Hanson of Wausau.

  • Eleven months ago, Lisa Berrios was on medications for both diabetes and high blood pressure.
    Her weight had topped at 287 pounds, and as a nurse at the VA hospital in Gainesville, she knew something had to give soon.
    Because in addition to the physical complications that accompany obesity, the usually upbeat Lisa found herself combatting depression,
    “Let’s go to Zumba,” someone recommended.
    It was the beginning of a new life for her–one that is healthy and fun.

  • Louis and Lynne Bouten met on a blind date in St. Albans Naval Base where they both served.
    They were married Feb. 25, 1961.
    They have 11 childern, 28 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren
    Louis retired from the U.S. Navy after 20 years and then worked 20 years with the state of Florida as a health provider to imates in Lowell.
    Lynne is a nurse for 40 years and works for Head Start.

    AARP Chapter #912 meets the second Monday each month at 9:30 a.m. in the Holy Family Catholic Church Hall.  At the meeting on Monday, Feb. 14, members will bring unwrapped baby items to contribute to the Tri-County Pregnancy Center.  Vistors are welcome.  All AARP national members in the area are encouraged to  join the chapter.
