  • Creekside School Play

    Creekside Christian School will present a cowboy Christmas play, "For Unto Ya'll" at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 15 (tonight) at the school, located at 171 SW 3rd St., Otter Creek. 

     

    Stuff the Hummer

    The Williston Police Department will once again sponsor the "Stuff the Hummer" food drive. 

    The Hummer will be at Winn-Dixie, located at 727 West Noble Ave.,  from 2-5 p.m. Dec. 16 and Dec. 23.

    American Legion Activities

    Post 236 will have Karaoke with Marlene every Sunday until Christmas from 1-5 p.m.

    On Dec. 15, Christmas baskets will be donated to the Levy Learning Center.

    On Dec. 23, the post will have a Christmas dinner and gift exchange.

    The post is closed Christmas Day.

  •  Jockey Club Event

    The Ocala Jockey Club at 8720 W. Hwy. 318, Reddick will hold a three day international event Nov. 25-27.

    Clay Landing Days

    Manatee Springs State Park will hold Clay Landing Days, a living history event, Nov. 25-26.

  •  Light Up Williston

    Williston will officially welcome the Christmas season Saturday, Dec. 3 with a parade down Noble Avenue beginning at 6 p.m.

    Sponsored by the Williston Area Chamber of Commerce, the theme this year is "Christmas Past".  Trophies will be awarded for the best floats that carry out the theme.

    After the parade, walk to the Heritage Park Pavilion where the festivities continue.

    CEE Meeting

    State and national election results will be the first topic of discussion when Citizens for an Engaged Electorate meets on Thursday, Nov. 17, at 7 p.m. at Williston Community Center.

    WWII Vets and Proud of It  will meet at 11 a.m., Nov. 10 at the Moose Lodge in Fanning Springs. Vets, spouses and caregivers are invited to attend.

    WCCA Fall Festival

    Williston Central Christian Academy, in conjunction with Space Walk of the Nature Coast, will host its Inflate-A-Fall Festival from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12.

    In addition to inflatables of all sizes, there will be food, pony rides, face painting and more.

    Tourism Council Meeting

    The Levy County Tourist Development Council will meet Thursday, Nov. 3 at 6 p.m. at 620 N Hathaway Ave., Bronson – Levy County Road Department Office Building.

    The meeting is open to the public.

     

    CEE Meeting

  • Calvin Sr. and Ernestine Edwards celebrated 63 years of marriage Oct. 24. 

    They were joined in holy matrimony in Ocala Oct. 24, 1953. 

    They have been retired from the Levy County School System since 1987. 

    Mr. Edwards finished his tenure of 30 years as assistant principal of Williston High School.

    Mrs. Edwards finished her tenure of 30 years as a first grade teacher at Joyce Bullock Elementary School.

    AARP Driving Class

    An AARP Driver Safety Class for Seniors will be held at the First United Methodist Church, 213 West Noble Ave., Williston, Thursday, Oct. 20 from 9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

  •  Marion Elizabeth Vallario and Charles Thomas Weatherly, both of Williston, announce their engagement and upcoming marriage.

     Miss Vallario is the daughter of Frances Vallario Taylor of Williston. She is the granddaughter of Nancy Vallario. 

    The bride-elect is a 2011 graduate of Williston High School. 

    The future groom is the son of Tom and Dianna Weatherly of Williston. He is the grandson of Shirley Young.
