  • Calvin Sr. and Ernestine Edwards celebrated 63 years of marriage Oct. 24. 

    They were joined in holy matrimony in Ocala Oct. 24, 1953. 

    They have been retired from the Levy County School System since 1987. 

    Mr. Edwards finished his tenure of 30 years as assistant principal of Williston High School.

    Mrs. Edwards finished her tenure of 30 years as a first grade teacher at Joyce Bullock Elementary School.

    AARP Driving Class

    An AARP Driver Safety Class for Seniors will be held at the First United Methodist Church, 213 West Noble Ave., Williston, Thursday, Oct. 20 from 9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

  •  Marion Elizabeth Vallario and Charles Thomas Weatherly, both of Williston, announce their engagement and upcoming marriage.

     Miss Vallario is the daughter of Frances Vallario Taylor of Williston. She is the granddaughter of Nancy Vallario. 

    The bride-elect is a 2011 graduate of Williston High School. 

    The future groom is the son of Tom and Dianna Weatherly of Williston. He is the grandson of Shirley Young.

    Parenting Classes

    Healthy Start is holding Childbirth, Breastfeeding and Parenting classes on Tuesday, Oct. 18 from 1-4 p.m. 

    Class will be held at the Tri-County Pregnancy Center - 426 West Noble Ave., Williston.

    Williston Councilwoman Nancy Wininger will host a town hall meeting, Thursday, Sept. 22 from 7-8:30 p.m. in the city council room.

     

    Child Safety Day 

    Ornan Masonic Lodge will host its 9th Annual Child Safety Day and Child ID Saturday, Sept. 24 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the lodge, 250 NE 6th Blvd., Williston.

    The Chief Theatre in Chiefland will hold a yard sale Saturday, Aug. 27 from 9 a.m.-noon. There will be books, kitchen items, clothing and oddities all at rock bottom prices.

  • James and Betty Dean of Williston will celebrate their 72nd wedding anniversary on Sunday, Aug. 28. 

     The couple was married in Ft. Lauderdale on Aug. 28, 1944 and moved from Miami to Williston in 1959.

    Mr. Dean retired from the trucking business in 1987.  Mrs. Dean is a homemaker.  

    The couple has one son, Mike Dean, and his wife, Wanda, of Thaxton, Miss. and one daughter, Cindy Tribby, and her husband, Brian, of Gainesville.  

  •  Erin MacDonald and Jason Stewart were united in marriage Saturday, June 18  at five o'clock in the afternoon at the Hockley Valley Resort in Ontario, Canada. The bride is the daughter of Lori MacDonald of Ontario, Canada and the late Eric MacDonald.
