Dean celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary Aug. 28.&nbsp;</p> <p> The couple was married in Ft. Lauderdale Aug. 28, 1944 after James, a member of the U. S. Marine Corps, returned from the South Pacific, where he participated in the invasions of Guadalcanal and New Guinea.</p> <p> After the end of WWII, the couple resided in Miami until 1959, when they moved to Williston.&nbsp; He spent his early years in Levy County and the return brought them closer to family.</p>
