  • Tyson, Stinson plan October wedding

     Jennifer Tyson and Clayton Stinson announce their engagement and forthcoming marriage Saturday, Oct. 19 at 1 p.m. at the Trail Riders Club, behind the Dixie County Health Department, off Hwy. 19 in Cross City.

    Ms. Tyson is the daughter of Sue Tindale and Mr. and Mrs. James Tindale.

    The future groom is the son of Clifford and Jackie Stinson.

    Following the wedding at 2 p.m., the Stinson Family Reunion will be held at the same location. Those attending are asked to bring a covered dish.

  • Hamilton, Trimm to wed June 1

     Greg and Denise Hamilton of Williston announce the forthcoming marriage of their son, Zachary Pearson Hamilton to Dixie Lee Trimm, of Grovetown, Ga., daughter of James and Wanda Trimm.

  • Jones-Etheridge to exchange May vows

    Brad and Christine Jones of Williston announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Julia Charlsie, to Daniel Douglas Etheridge, son of Darryl and Linda Etheridge of Williston.
    The bride-elect is a graduate of Southern College with a bachelor’s degree in business management. She is employed with First National Bank in Ocala.
    The future groom is a graduate of the University of Florida with a degree in business finance. He is employed with Drummond Community Bank.

  • Jones-Etheridge to exchange May vows

     Brad and Christine Jones of Williston announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Julia Charlsie, to Daniel Douglas Etheridge, son of Darryl and Linda Etheridge of Williston.

  • Martins welcome new son

    Stephan and Connie Martin announce the birth of their son, Raylan Joel, born Aug. 25, 2012 at Shands Hospital in Gainesville.
    The baby weighed 8 pounds, 1.2 ounces and was 21.5 inches long.
    The grandparents are Joel and June Martin of Williston and Andy and Cyndi Orlowski of Debary.
     

  • Miss Blomquist, Mr. Parker plan March wedding

    Tony and  Tonya Parker of Bronson announce the egagement of their son, Wesley Parker to Tegan Blomquist.
    The bride-elect is a native of Gainesville who plans to finish her accounting degree from Santa Fe college.
    The future groom  is a graduate of Bronson High School and is currently employed as a maintenance technician in Gainesville where the couple met.
     The couple will exchange vows March 2, 2013 at First Baptist of Bronson.
     

  • Casons will celebrate 50th Anniversary

    James W. “Jake” Cason and Marion L. Geiger Cason were married at Anthony Baptist Church in Anthony July 14, 1962.  The Rev. H.W. Markham performed the double-ring ceremony by candlelight.
    The couple moved to Williston from Ocala in 1971.  
    Mr. Cason retired from Sprint in 2004 after 39 years of service.  
    Mrs. Cason has worked at Perkins State Bank in Williston for 33 years.

  • Wendells celebrate 60th anniversary

    Ronald and Donna Wendell will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary  Sunday, May 27 at noon in the fellowship hall of the First United Methodist Church. The potluck luncheon is hosted by their children, grandchildren and great-grandson.
    Friends of the couple are invited to attend.

    Donna Marie Gleasman and Ronald Borden Wendell were married May 17, 1952 in New Hartford, N.Y.

  • Baby's First Christmas

    Santa was no doubt good to Billy E. Butler IV, who was born June 3, 2011 and celebrated his first Christmas this past weekend. He is the son of Billy and Hannah Butler, great-great-grandson of Flossie Butler; great-grandson of Billy and Marlene Butler; great-grandson of Marguerite Collins; grandson of Billy and Annette Butler; grandson of Joey and Eve Pallone and Mark and Jane Willgons.

  • Local hounds dress up for Halloween at celebration

    Trained Dog Happy Dog agility and training facility held their annual Howl-o-ween for dogs celebration on Saturday Oct. 22. Many dogs brought their owners to the celebration where they each took their turn at the “LURE” course to record their best run. There was also a Costume Contest for all the dogs.

    The Great Dane named Celeste, owned by Kathy Anaya ran the Lure Course is a blazing 11.82  seconds.
