  • Mr. and Mrs. Edwards celebrate 63 years of marriage

    Calvin Sr. and Ernestine Edwards celebrated 63 years of marriage Oct. 24. 

    They were joined in holy matrimony in Ocala Oct. 24, 1953. 

    They have been retired from the Levy County School System since 1987. 

    Mr. Edwards finished his tenure of 30 years as assistant principal of Williston High School.

    Mrs. Edwards finished her tenure of 30 years as a first grade teacher at Joyce Bullock Elementary School.

  • Miss Vallario, Mr. Weatherly to exchange vows Saturday

     Marion Elizabeth Vallario and Charles Thomas Weatherly, both of Williston, announce their engagement and upcoming marriage.

     Miss Vallario is the daughter of Frances Vallario Taylor of Williston. She is the granddaughter of Nancy Vallario. 

    The bride-elect is a 2011 graduate of Williston High School. 

    The future groom is the son of Tom and Dianna Weatherly of Williston. He is the grandson of Shirley Young. 

  • Mr. and Mrs. James Dean celebrate 72 years of marriage

    James and Betty Dean of Williston will celebrate their 72nd wedding anniversary on Sunday, Aug. 28. 

     The couple was married in Ft. Lauderdale on Aug. 28, 1944 and moved from Miami to Williston in 1959.

    Mr. Dean retired from the trucking business in 1987.  Mrs. Dean is a homemaker.  

    The couple has one son, Mike Dean, and his wife, Wanda, of Thaxton, Miss. and one daughter, Cindy Tribby, and her husband, Brian, of Gainesville.  

  • MacDonald-Stewart celebrate June nuptials

     Erin MacDonald and Jason Stewart were united in marriage Saturday, June 18  at five o'clock in the afternoon at the Hockley Valley Resort in Ontario, Canada. The bride is the daughter of Lori MacDonald of Ontario, Canada and the late Eric MacDonald.  

  • Owens' family welcomes new daughter

     Allison and Jeremy Owens of Royston, Ga. announce the birth of their first child, a daughter, Piper Rae, born at 1:45 p.m. June 27, 2016 at St. Mary's Hospital in Athens, Ga.

    The baby weighed 7 pounds, 3 ounces and was 19.5 inches long.

    Maternal grandparents are Carolyn (Tom) Ten Broeck of Williston and Bill Risner of Canon, Ga.

    Paternal grandparents are the late Jerry and Diane Owens of Elberton, Ga.

  • Ms. Garza, Mr. Jerkins announce engagement

     

    Betty Ruth Garza and William (Bill) Jerkins became engaged Nov. 26.

    The bride-elect attended Lowndes High School in Valdosta, Ga. She is retired.

  • Jessica Mikell, Henry Porter exchange vows in the Caribbean

     

    Jessica Lynn Mikell became the bride of Henry Laurance Porter on Grand Cayman Island at five-thirty in the afternoon Nov. 14 with Dr. Desmond Whittaker officiating.

    The bride is the daughter of Gregory and Patti Mikell of Morriston.

  • Traylor, Wendlant exchange wedding vows

    Chelsea Allyse Traylor of Williston and Luke Edward Wendlandt of Carrollton, Ga. were joined together in marriage on Sept. 27.

    The bride is the daughter of Greg and Pam Traylor of Williston. The groom is the son of Jerold Wendlandt of Carrollton, Ga. and Darla Cross of Panama City.

    The couple resides in Gainesville.  

  • Miss Sandlin, Mr. Masseo plan Christmas Eve vows

      Mr. and Ms. Damon Sandlin of Williston announce the engagement of their daughter, Victoria Hope, to Andrew J. Masseo, son of Marisol Masseo of Williston and the late Mr. Andrew S. Masseo.

    Ms. Sandlin graduated from Williston High School and will graduate from the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences at the University of Florida in December.

    Mr. Masseo graduated from Williston High School and is currently stationed at Fort Stewart, Ga. serving in the United States Army.

    The Christmas Eve wedding will be held in Williston.

  • Miss Moody to marry Mr. Beasley Oct. 11

    The engagement of Adrienne Victoria Moody to Allen Martin Beasley is announced by her parents, Mrs. Owen Baynard, and Mr. and Mrs. Horace A. Moody of Destin.

    She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Pansy Robinson of Bronson.

    The bride-elect is a 1999 graduate of Chiefland High School.

    She is a graduate of Santa Fe College with associate degrees in arts and science. She is employed by Edmiston and Edmiston PA in St. Augustine.

    The future groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Bruce A. Beasley of Ethel, La.
